Celebrating 80 years of developing the potential of women and building better communities.
About us
The Junior League of the Palm Beaches is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. Proudly serving Palm Beach County since 1941, the Junior League of the Palm Beaches develops community partnerships focused on serving children and young adults in the foster care system. Major projects over time have included the establishment and building of Quantum House and the 10,000 sq. foot Fun Zone play area in Gaines Park, the founding of the South Florida Science Center & Aquarium in 1961, and the establishment and facilitation of Eye & Ear Alert since 1968 and Cotillion since 1957. Happy Birthday, Eleanor Roosevelt! 🎂 Today, we celebrate the former New York Junior League Member, and former U.S. First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt. She was a tireless champion of human rights, women's empowerment, and social justice, and her wisdom and compassion continue to inspire us all. Let's honor this extraordinary woman by carrying forward her message of kindness, equality, and compassion. As she famously said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." We hope you’ll join us in remembering and celebrating Eleanor on her special day! AJLI is closely monitoring reports of Hurricane Milton and its expected landfall today, Wednesday, October 9, 2024, along the west coast of Florida in the U.S. We are reaching out to all Florida Leagues that may be affected. AJLI remains committed to doing all we can to support Leagues as this situation develops and will share any information received from affected Leagues across the Association. As we communicated in response to Hurricane Helene, AJLI is compiling a list of nonprofit and community impact funds supporting individuals in need of help during this time (https://lnkd.in/eVyJq7Hs). We will continue to update the list as we receive additional information. Please stay safe.

Over the weekend our Fall New Members took part in the New Member Bus Tour, visiting and hearing from partners that Junior League of the Palm Beaches serve around Palm Beach County. The day started with a tour & an engaging panel discussion at the Palm Beach County Food Bank featuring Linda Roman, Kristin Calder and Jeff DeMario. Next we visited FLITE Center and heard from Alex Ortiz. Then we drove by the Cox Science Center and Aquarium, Gaines Park & one of our Little Libraries before our final stop at Quantum House. Today was Junior League of the Palm Beaches’ community partner tour! Palm Beach County Food Bank, FLITE Center, and Quantum House showed us amazing hospitality. Some takeaways: 🙋🏻♀️ we are on track to give out the ONE MILLIONTH feminine hygiene item this year through our new period supply bank at the Food Bank 🏡 in just a few short years, FLITE’s expansion into Palm Beach County has flourished into a number of new partnerships to increase the compassionate care available to human trafficking victims in our community 👩🏻🍳 I’m so ready to go be Chef for a Day at Quantum House! On a related note, this month marks one year since my husband and I moved home to South Florida after my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer last summer. We uprooted ourselves for the saddest reasons but I am so thankful to be here in the end. I have so much gratitude to JLPB for helping me reorient myself in my hometown. 🌴🤲❤️ #JuniorLeague

Jennia gave every new member and leader a yellow rose at their meeting earlier this week 🌼 #jlpb #jlpbimpact #feelgoodfriday #bethegood #community
