Our goal is to build the community and become a leading source of learning around knowledge graphs.
About us
Founded in 2019 at Columbia University in the City of New York, The Knowledge Graphs Conference (KGC) is emerging as the premier source of learning around knowledge technologies. We believe knowledge graphs are an underutilized yet essential force for solving complex societal challenges like climate change, democratizing access to knowledge and opportunity, and capturing business value made possible by the AI revolution. KGC bridges the gap between industry, which is increasingly recognizing the necessity of integrated data, and academia, where semantic technologies have been developing for over twenty years. Our events, education, content, and community efforts facilitate meaningful exchange between diverse groups and increase awareness, development and adoption of this powerful technology.

Check out this white paper on The Seven Cases for Knowledge Graph Integration in a RAG Architecture written by Andreas Blumauer, CEO of Semantic Web Company (SWC). The paper highlights how businesses are adopting RAG architectures with LLMs to tackle complex information management challenges. Learn how combining symbolic AI, like knowledge models and graphs, with GenAI can enhance RAG systems with domain knowledge for superior performance. #KnowledgeGraph #GenerativeAI #LLM #SemanticWeb #RAGArchitecture https://lnkd.in/dq4YcTgE

The Knowledge Graph Conference reposted this
Graph semantics and AI trends strategist / Change consultant / Veteran researcher, analyst and reporter
A year ago, Denny Vrandečić of the Wikimedia Foundation, one of the key people behind Wikidata, made some telling remarks about when not to use LLMs during a keynote at the The Knowledge Graph Conference: “Why would you ever use a 96 layer LLM with 175 billion parameters to generate a multiplication, which is a single operation with a CPU? Just because an LLM can do these kinds of things doesn’t mean they should be. Why should you be generating knowledge again and again when you can just look it up in a confident way?…. It’s just not very efficient.” What's happened in the past year since Vrandečić made this observation? Platform providers such as Fluree are making it possible to harness the power of LLMs and knowledge graphs together in ways that allow more accuracy, efficiency and security. https://t.ly/MyPQ8

Excited to announce the Amazon Web Services (AWS)-The Knowledge Graph Conference GraphRAG Workshop event on Thursday, July 11 complimenting the #AWSSummit New York next week! Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications use generative AI to analyze private datasets that have been vectorized by AI/ML embedding models. But baseline RAG can sometime produce poor responses that lack explainability and issues that include conflated sources, spurious claims, and lack of contextual awareness. GraphRAG combines knowledge graphs with RAG to produce explainable responses that are grounded in the semantic relationships between concepts, entities, and the underlying content. In this builders’ session, get hands-on experience with Amazon Neptune, graph notebooks, and LlamaIndex, an open source framework for building RAG applications. You must bring your laptop to participate. Limited spots available! Link to sign up in comments below. #generativeai

▶ 📺 Now on #KGCYouTube! ▶ 📺 You can watch the full KEYNOTE presentation by the distinguished Pierre Lévy on ‘Language and Knowledge Representation’ from #KGC2024. It’s available on the KGC YouTube channel. Pierre Lévy is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Canada | La Société royale du Canada and a Research Associate at the Université de Montréal. He has published several books on the impact of information technology on society, which have been translated into a dozen languages. Notably, in 1994, he authored the first book on collective intelligence based on digital media. Additionally, Pierre is the inventor of the #IEML language, which proposes a calculable coding of meaning. Beyond academia, he serves as the CEO of Intlekt Metadata, a company specializing in ontology design. Keynote Abstract: What does it mean, exactly, to understand and to know? A comparison of cognitive processes in humans and animals will highlight the essential role of symbolism and language in human intelligence. This scientific and philosophical insight will clarify the respective functions of generative models and knowledge graphs in contemporary knowledge management. ▶ 📺 Watch the keynote ➡ https://lnkd.in/en8-qBdf.
