Dorren Miller got into a wreck on 03/16/2022 . State Farm provided Mr. Miller a rental on 04/14/2022. State Farm promised to repair his vehicle at his choice of body shop on 05/6/2022. Mr. Miller chose Magnum Collision Center. Magnum’s estimate of repairs was $24,528.18. State Farm estimate of repairs was $8,200.83. Magnum would not allow any of State Farm’s employees on their premise. Magnum would not allow State Farm to tow the vehicle from their body shop. State Farm asked for their rental and Mr. Miller gave them back their rental on 06/23/2022. Magnum would not allow Mr. Miller to remove his vehicle from their body shop. Judge Kimberly A. Childs of Cobb Superior Court will hear the parties on 08/29/2024 at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 7400 located at 70 Haynes Street, Marietta, GA 30090. Today, I did not follow the rule of nature: the balance between predators and preys. Instead, we settled a case at court right before trial over $1,400 that we filed a year ago. It was the difference between what GEICO offered as a total loss and what our independent appraiser had appraised our client's vehicle to be. After a year, GEICO finally coughed up the additional $1,400 literally at the steps to the courthouse. We represent our injury clients' property damage claims for FREE as we get to make money on their injury claims. I forego the minimum statutory damage of costs and attorney fees pursuant to OCGA 33-4-7 and resolved the case for what we demanded a year ago. Maybe I'm going soft. Client is happy! p.s. As I took the elevator from the parking deck to Fulton County court, I took these photos which reminded me the harshness of nature between predators and preys.
