Thinking of Nex today. My heart aches. I founded Learning Phoenix to empower LGBTQIA+ individuals and women in their career journeys and assist businesses in fostering environments where they can truly flourish, not merely exist. Creating inclusive environments where we can all safely bring our authentic selves is my dream, but our work is far from over. It's devastating to see members of our community facing such heinous crimes, like what happened to Nex. It's a stark reminder of the harsh reality many LGBTQIA+ individuals endure, where the simple act of existing authentically can be met with violence and discrimination. We must acknowledge that merely surviving is not enough. Everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, to pursue their dreams without fear of prejudice or harm. That's why it's crucial for us to continue advocating for basic human rights and working towards systemic changes that will ensure a safer and more equitable future for all.
