One of the worst decisions I’ve ever made? Rejecting Rakshith Subramanyam's resume… In 2017, while recruiting the initial talent for a skunkworks lab that would become The Luminosity Lab, I quickly passed on Rakshith’s application without much of a second thought. The next week, he showed up at my lab and asked to meet. We went on a walk that I will never forget. As we spoke, Rakshith convincingly articulated why he was the ideal fit for our team. The tenacity, confidence, and unwavering dedication he demonstrated during that conversation were exactly the qualities I sought in building a ‘skunkworks’ culture. Rakshith became a founding member of Luminosity, quickly distinguishing himself as one of our top researchers and implementers. His relentless pursuit of excellence and innovative thinking propelled our projects forward in ways I hadn’t anticipated. Over the years, he remained a cornerstone of our lab, earning his master's and recently defending his PhD at ASU. His research has always been ahead of its time and has been focused on the intersection of generative AI and knowledge graphs. His unique expertise makes him the perfect fit for the pioneering work we are doing at Primer to drive adaptive, personalized learning at scale. I am thrilled to announce that Rakshith has joined the Primer team to spearhead our AI research and ensure that we remain on the bleeding edge of innovation. Welcome to the team, Rakshith, here’s to breaking new ground together.

We are days away from a moment we've been building towards for 8 years… Next week, I’ll present at the ASU+GSV Summit, an event I've attended since 2018. In 2018, during his keynote address at the summit, ASU President Michael Crow foreshadowed our work on Primer. Before the hype of generative AI - Arizona State University had a clear vision for the future - a lifelong adaptive system that dynamically personalizes itself to each learner's needs and facilitates a world-class education at an unprecedented scale. I have had the honor of leading the team responsible for developing this technology. At this year's summit, I will formally unveil Primer to a global audience, presenting it as the embodiment of our shared vision. We will showcase how we have built the world's most advanced learning companion and paint a compelling picture of a lifelong learning platform accessible to all. Moreover, we will be announcing the pilots we have launched in collaboration with K-12 school districts, universities, and community colleges nationwide, as well as a series of significant partnerships and strategic initiatives that underscore our commitment to revolutionizing education. I am grateful to Deborah Quazzo, Michael T. Moe, Claire Zau, Michael Crow, Philip Regier, Todd Altadonna, and all those who have worked tirelessly to make this conference the world's premier event for innovation and transformation in education. Please join me at the ASU+GSV Summit from April 14th-17th as we usher in a new era of personalized, adaptive learning for all!
