The Maschhoffs 2nd Annual Targeted Development Program is a year-long initiative for select individuals, focused on self-development, personalized growth plans, expanding professional networks, and leadership skills beyond the Swine Industry. Participants attend quarterly sessions that blend classroom learning with field trips, supported by mentors, facilitators, peer groups, and leaders. This investment in their growth reflects our commitment to their long-term success within the company. Caleb, his wife, and their three children enjoy family activities like watching sports, hunting, fishing, 4-H projects, and attending church. Caleb also stays involved in grain farming and developing recreational properties. Interestingly, Caleb shares a birthday with his oldest daughter, and with their twins, they celebrate birthdays only three times a year. Caleb started with The Maschhoffs as a graduate student in 2007 and transitioned to full-time in 2013, serving as Associate Director and then Director of Research and Development. Selected for the Targeted Development Program, Caleb says, “They took a chance on a very naïve college student 17 years ago and have supported me every step of the way.” The company’s dedication to both personal and leadership growth has kept him engaged and motivated. For someone passionate about innovation and growth, The Maschhoffs has been an excellent fit, offering autonomy and challenges. Caleb’s advice to new employees: ask for opportunities that push your boundaries, as that’s where growth happens. He also highlights the supportive culture, saying, “The Maschhoffs is full of great people willing to help, if you just ask.” As the company has grown, its culture of hard work, doing the right thing, and continuous improvement remains. Caleb also notes progress in fostering a culture of care, strengthening relationships both at work and home.
