The Montgomery County LGBT Business Council

The Montgomery County LGBT Business Council (The Council) will provide social networking opportunities that will increase the economic, intellectual, and social wealth of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender business community in Montgomery County. By coming together, we can open up contracting and procurement opportunities with corporations and governments nationwide. • Stay on the forefront of legislative issues and providing advocacy for LGBT business causes and non-discriminatory affairs. • Strategize with corporate partners, other business organizations and the community at-large to strengthen opportunities and equality for LGBT businesses and professionals. • Partner with the financial services sector to improve access to capital to start or grow a business. • Provide marketing platforms for LGBT and allied businesses. • Broadcast news and information essential to the success of LGBT business enterprises and professionals on a local and national level. • Encourage members and allies to create a diverse and inclusive workforce that mirrors its consumer base. Encourage Supplier Diversity – Community Involvement – Ethnic Marketing. • Encourage members and allies to communicate the diversity & inclusion business case, strategies and actions routinely (and Implement a Comprehensive Diversity & Inclusion Training Curriculum to build awareness. Strategic Priorities Promote success and the expansion of lgbt/allied owned and allied businesses in Montgomery County and beyond. Facilitate equal opportunities and workplace protections for lgbt workers and customers in Montgomery County Adovovate for and be the leading voice in local legislation promoting the interests and protection of lgbt owned and operated businesses, workers, and customers.
