To know Christ, make Him known, and help others do the same®

About us

The Navigators is an international, interdenominational Christian ministry established in 1933 as an outreach for followers of Jesus Christ to help others come to know and grow in Him as they navigate through life – a goal embodied by The Navigators motto, “To Know Christ, make Him known, and help others do the same®” Navigators are characterized by an eagerness to introduce Jesus to those who don't know Him, a passion to see those who do know Jesus deepen their relationship with Him, and a commitment to training Jesus followers to continue this nurturing process among the people they know. We are a community of hundreds of thousands of everyday people who impact others for God's glory in our normal pathways of life where we study, live, work, and play. We spread the Good News of Jesus Christ by establishing Life-to-Life® mentoring—or discipling—relationships with people, equipping them to make an impact on those around them for God's glory. Today, the Navigator staff family – nearly 5,000 strong – spans 70 different nationalities, 130 languages, and individuals from every heritage and life experience. The Navigator family also includes those who work alongside and support our staff, whose hearts beat with our same passion to Know Christ, make Him known, and help others do the same™.

Sometimes it’s impossible to see how and why the Lord connects us with specific people until He reveals it to us. This was the case for a man named Tyler. When Tyler was in college, he met Navigator Ward Ballard, who intentionally offered him the gift of friendship. That relationship carried Tyler into his adult professional world, where he eventually came across another Navigator — James. Both James and Ward taught Tyler the meaning of loving like Jesus, meeting needs, and coming alongside others in powerful ways. “They lived and obeyed the biblical command to love one’s neighbor — irrespective of whether it profits us somehow or not,” Tyler says. “I cannot think of a higher calling, and I am grateful to have known these two inspiring men.” What Tyler didn’t realize is that not only did James and Ward leave a permanent imprint on his life — but they also had impacted each other long before Tyler ever came into the picture. Would you like to invite someone to follow Jesus with you? Are you wondering what that would look like? Or even how to start? Everyone’s faith journey is unique to them and in this discipleship resource, “3 Ways to Help Someone Grow Spiritually” we keep that in mind. This resource gives you three different ways you could disciple someone depending on their spiritual walk: 1️⃣ - Read & Discuss the Bible: Is for those who have yet to start following Jesus. Many times reading the Bible together may provide an outlet for spiritual conversations and exposure to Jesus’ character. 2️⃣ - Cover the Basics of Faith: Is for those who are brand new believers. It’s important to focus on those core pieces of what it means to follow Jesus, such as salvation, answered prayer, victory over sin, forgiveness, and guidance. 3️⃣ - Teach Them Quiet Time with God: Is for those who are already following Jesus but want to go deeper in their relationship with Him. Consider inviting a friend to join you for some quiet time with the Lord. Model and share with them what this time looks like for you. Offer ideas and encourage them with the benefits of making this time a priority. With these simple and practical ways to disciple someone, you will feel confident and equipped to take your next step as a disciplemaker. In Psalm 1:2-3, the Bible teaches us that if we meditate on God’s Word day and night, we will be “like a tree firmly planted by streams of water” (NASB). But how do you practically and prayerfully meditate on Scripture day and night? Use these four simple steps to saturate your mind with Scripture and discover how this transforms your life: 1. Read the passage intended for the next morning’s quiet time just before you go to sleep. 2. Take about three minutes to scan through the passage and ask God to highlight a word or phrase that will help you focus on Him the next day. 3. Take this with you to bed. 4. Your mind will prayerfully ponder this Scripture while you sleep, making it more likely for you to be replaying these truths in your mind the next morning. Want to learn more about how to meditate on Scripture? Sometimes a small dose of encouragement may be exactly what someone needs that day. You’ve probably experienced this in your work. There was a kind word or affirmation that encouraged you and what you put your hands to each day. As a disciplemaker, the journey isn’t always easy. However, an encouraging word from someone who has been there and cheers you on goes a long way. In this free resource, “10 Ways to Encourage Another Disciplemaker,” you’ll receive practical ideas for how you can be that encouragement to someone else. Watch how these small practical steps fuel disciplemakers with what they need to keep following Jesus by visiting: navs.me/3Wl69ue #ChristianWorkplace #Leadership #FaithAtWork

As we approach the start of a new school year, focus your prayer time by taking a prayer walk following these 3 steps below! Pray together with a group or individually on a campus or school near you. 1️⃣ Ask God to Reveal Read Acts 4:24-31 Praise—sing or listen to a few songs with your team that help you praise God. Ask God what He’s already doing in this place. Do some listening prayer, asking God questions and writing down anything you hear or feel. 2️⃣ Ask God to Renew Read Acts 2:37-41 – Pray for renewal of your own faith. Pray for God to move deeply in your own heart. Ask Him to renew your own faith of what He can do and what He wants to do on campus. – Pray opposites. Did God reveal any barriers to you when you asked Him to reveal insights? Pray that the opposite would happen for each barrier. – Pray over historic or symbolic spots. Are there any historical spots that may need prayer? Go to those places and pray for them. Pray that God would renew those places. 3️⃣ Ask God for Revival – Pray and listen. Ask God to show you what revival would look like on this campus. Write down anything you see or feel. – Pray for Christians. Pray that Christians already in this place would be bold, have faith, and be courageous. If there are any Christian groups or churches, pray this for them as well. – Pray for people in power. Pray for professors, administrators, student government, and other leaders on campus. – Take a step of faith. Ask God to lead you to particular people on campus. Talk with them and ask them if you can pray for them on the spot. How do you intentionally pass on lessons you’ve learned to the next generation? For Eagle Lake counselors Samuel and Nathan, this looks like coming alongside campers and helping them develop their walks with Jesus — much like their counselors did for them when they were young campers. “When people ask me why I come back to Eagle Lake, I tell them that this is where I fell in love with Jesus,” Nathan says. “It’s been a huge blessing to come into the summer with the knowledge of the impact God can have through me, like my counselors once did for me.” Learn more about Nathan and Samuel’s stories, and how the Lord is working through them and Eagle Lake Camps of The Navigators one generation at a time by visiting: navs.me/3S4rfu1 #WorkplaceMinistry #ChristianWorkplace #Leadership #FaithAtWork

Born to Reproduce was originally a 47-minute message given by Navigator founder Dawson Trotman in 1955 – a message that spoke to the importance of life-to-life discipleship and spiritual generations to fulfill the Great Commission. Decades later, hundreds of thousands have been challenged and many lives changed by hearing the audio and reading the printed versions of Born to Reproduce.
