Sometimes it’s impossible to see how and why the Lord connects us with specific people until He reveals it to us. This was the case for a man named Tyler. In Psalm 1:2-3, the Bible teaches us that if we meditate on God’s Word day and night, we will be “like a tree firmly planted by streams of water” (NASB). But how do you practically and prayerfully meditate on Scripture day and night? Use these four simple steps to saturate your mind with Scripture and discover how this transforms your life: 1. Read the passage intended for the next morning’s quiet time just before you go to sleep. 2. Take about three minutes to scan through the passage and ask God to highlight a word or phrase that will help you focus on Him the next day. 3. Take this with you to bed. 4. Your mind will prayerfully ponder this Scripture while you sleep, making it more likely for you to be replaying these truths in your mind the next morning. As we approach the start of a new school year, focus your prayer time by taking a prayer walk following these 3 steps below! Pray together with a group or individually on a campus or school near you. 1️⃣ Ask God to Reveal Read Acts 4:24-31 Praise—sing or listen to a few songs with your team that help you praise God. Ask God what He’s already doing in this place. Do some listening prayer, asking God questions and writing down anything you hear or feel. 2️⃣ Ask God to Renew Read Acts 2:37-41 – Pray for renewal of your own faith. Pray for God to move deeply in your own heart. Ask Him to renew your own faith of what He can do and what He wants to do on campus. – Pray opposites. Did God reveal any barriers to you when you asked Him to reveal insights? Pray that the opposite would happen for each barrier. – Pray over historic or symbolic spots. Are there any historical spots that may need prayer? Go to those places and pray for them. Pray that God would renew those places. 3️⃣ Ask God for Revival – Pray and listen. Ask God to show you what revival would look like on this campus. Write down anything you see or feel. – Pray for Christians. Pray that Christians already in this place would be bold, have faith, and be courageous. If there are any Christian groups or churches, pray this for them as well. – Pray for people in power. Pray for professors, administrators, student government, and other leaders on campus. – Take a step of faith. Ask God to lead you to particular people on campus. Talk with them and ask them if you can pray for them on the spot.
