Do you understand what drives your decision making and reactions? One of the things our coaches are trained listen for are called IDENTITY HOOKS. People are driven to preserve that which they value about themselves. Some individuals value being right, being seen as perfect, or being successful—these identity hooks can influence people in ways they may not even realize. These patterns (or cravings) can limit a person’s growth and affect how they lead others. By cultivating more inner awareness, people can uncover their identity hooks and start responding with intention rather than reacting unconsciously. What are your identity hooks? Take a moment to look inward and reflect. Check out this list to understand how your hooks might be influencing your leadership! https://lnkd.in/gFnEaEp4 #IdentityHooks #LeadershipAwareness #InnerAwareness #Leadership #Growth

The Buddhist faith refers to a term called “Shenpa” which describes a sticky little hook that lives within each of us. Getting “hooked” involves getting ensnared in a moment of discomfort and reacting from a sense of self-protection and ego. Each of us have our own hooks. For some it is a need for power or status, while others are hooked by people pleasing or needing to belong. By practicing inner awareness, and doing our inner work, we can pause and get unhooked from this things. In that pause lies the power to break free from old habits and respond with more thoughtfulness and clarity. What are you getting hooked on? Pause. Reflect. Respond. #InnerAwareness #Shenpa #ThePowerPause #Leadership #Growth

This month we are talking about the importance of developing Inner Awareness as a key component of leadership development. Inner Awareness helps you to turn what could be an emotional reaction into a thoughtful response. When you are clear on the inside, you can lead with more clarity. So create the gap – pause, notice, and choose a way forward on purpose. #InnerAwareness #LeadershipGrowth #RespondNotReact #MindfulLeadership

Resilience is more than just a mindset—it’s about how you manage your energy, set boundaries, and find purpose in your work. This month, we’re diving into four powerful practices to boost your resilience. Stay tuned for our upcoming blog that explores these practices in-depth. In the meantime, check out our most recent Vlog where Candyce and Kate challenge what it means to practice “resilience” and why they think it has become a toxic term in corporate culture: VLOG: https://buff.ly/4emFEL2 #Resilience #EnergyManagement #PurposefulWork

One of the best ways to practice resilience is to practice Positive Processing or "above the line thinking." To help people do this, our coaches like to reference the visual below. The horizontal line represents time (past, present, and future) and the vertical line represents your mindset (positive or negative thinking). To get your thinking above the line, we help leaders reflect on their past with a more positive perspective (Learning Zone) and on their future with a positive perspective (Planning Zone). When our thinking dips below the line, we might be in the “Rumination Zone” where we are feeling regret about what happened in the past or in the “Anxiety Zone” where we are worried about the future. This month we are sharing content that helps people get their thinking back above the line! When we control our thoughts, we control our lives. Ask yourself these questions: https://lnkd.in/gqRse-dp Stay tuned as we explore other key practices that help people develop a more resilient mindset this month at The People Side. #Resilience #AboveTheLineThinking #Leadership #GrowthMindset
