I’ve had the honor to support veterans over the last 4 years through Operation Wake Surf through my own wake surf event, Cali Comp Festival, which takes veterans (including first responders & any military) out on a day on the water to learn wake surfing. Founder Robby Maschhaupt honors veterans with his Salute2Service events across the country. Each year we host a silent auction and donate 100% of the proceeds to Operation Wake Surf. This year a few weeks ago we donated $5500! This past weekend, my 20 year old daughter and I spent 3 hours going through the ballot measures and voting! Her first time! Today will be historic & I’m honored to be able to share with my daughter the importance of her voice and vote. 🇺🇸❤️

Giving back…it’s the best! This week I had the pleasure of supporting two great non profits I’d love to highlight: ❤️Star Vista (www.star-vista.org): Founded in 1966 as the first crisis hotline and suicide prevention, along with giving kids and teens an opportunity to heal and thrive. They service all of San Mateo county. 🎉🎉Their gala Thursday night, October 17th, called “Changing Lives”, truly showcased the support and strength this organization provides. ❤️Career Girls (www.careergirls.org): Founded on the dream that every girl around the world has access to diverse and accomplished women role models to learn from their experiences and discover their own path to empowerment. It showcases women working in all industries & (by video) shows girls all over the world what it’s like and what is possible for them. Very empowering!! 🎉🎉They had their first walk/run event in SF on Saturday, October 19th.

Episode 37 is with Lamiaa Laurene Daif, born and raised in Morocco then moved to France at 17 for college. She became the youngest director at the largest private equity firm in France and worked there 10 years before moving to New York and then completely changing both her personal and professional life. After going back to get her MBA from Stanford and now working at Apple as a business strategist, Lamiaa learned some significant and very helpful tips for ones life, including how important it is to listen to your gut, and your body. She did a TedX Talk entitled what the body knows and the mind ignores. She created the Inside-out model and is sharing it with as many people as she can to help everyone in their life's journey. Just filled 2 positions which took 2 weeks from beginning to end! 🎉🎉 Earlier this year (& even last year), the roles I worked on were taking significantly longer to interview and hire. Hoping the shortened trend continues! FILLED: ✅ Controller, East Bay $275K ✅ Director FP&A, SF $215K Openings: CFO SAAS Director FP&A- SAAS healthcare Director Marketing- medical device Finance Manager- financial services Other industries I’m talking to folks with openings: Construction, CPG, SAAS/ IT, security, investment. Great article on the job market (Info pulled from the Bureau of Labor Statistics). New jobs outpacing market expectations. There is continued healthy job growth with 206,000 added new jobs in June. Unemployment rate edged higher to 4.1%. I am hearing lots of passive job openings that companies aren’t ready to fill but opening in the next few months. Know with the upcoming election, high interest rates, the stock market and the increase of minimum wage, companies have been adjusting accordingly. https://lnkd.in/gq2HcGuq
