About us

The Righter Company, Inc., is a diversified general contractor that has completed hundreds of projects throughout the State of Ohio, and surrounding states. The company is pre-qualified by the Ohio Department of Transportation for bridges of all types (ODOT level 3), culverts, earth retention, water and wastewater treatment plants, earthwork, grading, deep sewer and/or excavation, general building construction and demolition. The company has constructed bridges, roadways, water/waste water treatment plants, storm/sanitary sewers, waterlines, piling, earth retention, new buildings, and renovations of existing buildings. Our clients include Federal, State, County and local governments, along with many private industry owners. Permanent offices, shop and yard facilities are maintained at 2424 Harrison Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43204. The company owns the necessary equipment and vehicles to complete various types of construction projects. All owned equipment is maintained by a qualified staff of mechanics. The management staff, which includes four licensed Professional Engineers, has over one hundred years of experience in all phases of heavy, highway and building construction.

  • PROJECT UPDATE: TUSSING ROAD WRF JUNCTION CHAMBER IMPROVEMENTS The Righter Co., Inc. is has completed the structure and internal piping for the Tussing Road WRF Junction Chamber Improvements. The project includes the construction of a new concrete junction chamber adjacent to the existing headworks structure with a new 30” wall pipe to connect the two structures. A new 14 inch force main and a 12 inch force main will discharge into the new junction chamber. Jeff McGuire is the foreman with a crew of Dannie Wilson, Clay Slevin, Brenton McGuire, and Brody Buckey.  Mike Killilea is the project manager.

  • PROJECT UPDATE: COMPOST FACILITY ODOR CONTROL The Righter Company is working with the City of Columbus on the Compost Facility Phase 1 Improvements. This project consists of renovating the existing admin building, electrical upgrades, and blower / pipe replacement. Pictured is Righter removing a portion of damaged fiberglass pipe, prepping, and setting the new piece.

  • PROJECT UPDATE: KNOWLTON COVERED BRIDGE The Knowlton Covered Bridge project is nearing completion. This project has been a long time coming; the Knowlton Covered Bridge’s center span collapsed in July 2019, and the rear span collapsed a short time later. This project is an LPA project for Monroe County and ODOT. Monroe County supplied all of the timber from locally sourced trees, and the timber was cut by sawmills in Ohio.

  • The Righter Company is constructing a new 2.25 MGD submersible triplex pump station for the Southwest Licking Water and Sewer District in Etna. The pump station requires a 38’ deep excavation with a beam and lagging shoring system to install the 12' diameter wet well. The wet well and valve vault have been set over the last few weeks.

  • The Righter Company has been contracted by the City of Columbus to provide various improvements at waste water facilities. These facilities include Jackson Pike WWTP, Southerly WWTP, and various lift stations. Currently we are working on safety improvements at Jackson Pike WWTP. These include handrail and self-closing gate upgrades on the ACA exterior tanks. The supervisors / foreman and crew for this work consist of John Fuller, Justin Adam, Pete Litter, Tom Ison, Shawn Ison, Brayden Ison, Josh Priest, and Mark Litter.
