🔍 We recently had the opportunity to speak with Casey Cordy about The Robison Group’s strategy for combating fraud in 2025, along with her top recommendations for valuable industry resources. Here’s what Casey shared: 🔹 Priority for 2025: Strengthening Fieldwork and Methodologies “As an investigative solutions firm, our top priority in the fight against fraud in 2025 is strengthening our fieldwork capabilities and enhancing our investigative methodologies. While technology plays a role, we believe that traditional investigative techniques—such as in-depth surveillance, expert interviewing, and forensic analysis of paper trails—remain fundamental to identifying and dismantling fraud schemes. In 2025, we plan to focus heavily on training our investigators to spot subtle indicators of fraudulent behavior that automated processes may overlook. This includes refining our ability to assess human behavior, conduct thorough background checks, and follow financial paper trails that may uncover complex fraud networks. Additionally, we aim to build stronger relationships with industry-specific experts, such as forensic accountants and legal professionals, to gain deeper insights into evolving fraud tactics. This allows us to approach fraud investigations from a multi-disciplinary perspective, ensuring that we can outpace fraudsters who continuously adapt their methods. Our emphasis is on developing highly skilled investigators who can identify fraud at its earliest stages using both time-tested techniques and a more proactive, hands-on approach.” 🔹 Recommended Resources for Fraud Professionals “The International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU) is an essential resource for fraud professionals, offering a wide range of educational, certification, and networking opportunities. Their programs are designed to enhance expertise and keep investigators informed about the latest trends in fraud detection and prevention. I’ve been an active member and Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI) for over a decade, and I always look forward to their seminars for valuable insights and industry networking. The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) regularly publishes insightful reports in Fraud Magazine, covering emerging trends and case studies that highlight common pitfalls and best practices in investigations. Learning from others’ experiences is crucial to refining our own methodologies. On a personal level, I maintain a real-time alert system that tracks news on fraud investigations, trials, and convictions. Staying updated on high-profile cases and emerging schemes allows me to incorporate real-time insights into my practice.” 💬 Let’s Discuss: What strategies are you planning to implement in 2025 to strengthen your fight against fraud? Are there any resources or training programs that you’ve found particularly helpful in enhancing your investigative capabilities? Share your experiences and recommendations below! 👇
