An observant teacher can make a real difference in a child’s life. Teachers can play a critical role in preventing and reducing the impact of exposure to violence on children. They can help children by creating a predictable environment, listening to students’ stories, and assuring children and adolescents that whatever happened was not their fault. Teachers don’t have to do it alone! The abuse or maltreatment of children is against the law. Victims and survivors need an effective child protective service to prevent them from suffering further injury. Call NYS Child Protective Services at 1-800-342-3720. Please help us spread the word. ____________ If you or someone you know may be impacted by domestic/intimate partner violence, rape/sexual assault, child abuse, or human trafficking call our 24-hour hotline: (516) 542-0404. #longislandny #longislandnewyork #nassaucounty #teachersofinsta #teachersoninstagram #teachersupport #preschoolteachers #principals #schoolsback #signsofabuse #childabuse #childabuseawareness #stopchildabuse #childsexualabuse #abusedchild #childabuseprevention #endchildabuse #preventchildabuse #stopchildsexualabuse #stopchildabusenow #abuseawareness #domesticviolenceawareness #domesticabuseawareness #childphysicalabuse

These are some signs to watch out for: 🚩 If your partner always wants to be with you and won't let you be alone 🚩 If they often make you doubt your own thoughts and feelings 🚩 They might act really nice after being mean, trying to confuse you and make you stay. 🚩 If the relationship keeps breaking up and getting back together a lot It's important to understand these signs so you can help yourself or others who might be stuck in a bad situation. Recognizing these signs could be the way to identify a harmful relationship and get resources. ____________ If you or someone you know may be impacted by domestic/intimate partner violence, rape/sexual assault, child abuse, or human trafficking call our 24-hour hotline: (516) 542-0404. #supportvictims #domesticabuse #supportsurvivors #sexualabuse #abuseawareness #domesticabuserecovery # #longislandny #domesticviolencesurvivor #suffolkcounty #intimatepartnerviolence #domesticviolenceprevention #longislandnewyork #domesticviolenceadvocate #domesticviolencesurvivors #nassaucounty #toxicrelationships #toxicrelationshipsurvivor #healingfromtoxicrelationships #abusiverelationship #redflags

Recognizing the signs of child abuse. Here are some common indicators that might signal abuse is happening: ➡️ Unexplained Injuries: Frequent or unexplained bruises, burns, or fractures can be a red flag. Pay attention to patterns or repeated injuries. ➡️ Behavioral Changes: Sudden changes in behavior, such as withdrawal, aggression, or anxiety, may indicate that a child is experiencing abuse. ➡️ Fear of Certain Adults: A child who shows an unusual fear of a particular adult or avoids going home may be trying to avoid an abusive situation. ➡️ Regressive Behaviors: A child may revert to earlier behaviors, such as bedwetting or thumb-sucking, as a response to trauma. ➡️ Academic Decline: A sudden drop in school performance or lack of interest in schoolwork can be a sign that a child is dealing with something traumatic at home. It is important to remember that these signs don’t always indicate child abuse but should be a red flag that raises a concern. If you notice one or more of these signals take the steps to address it right away.
