"Great harms deserve great awards" -- Champaign County Judge Jason Bohm The judge who presided over the trial in which a jury rendered a $535 million verdict to a victim of sexual assault has denied all the defendant’s post-trial motions except a reduction of punitive damages. Judge Bohm issued a 34-page decision on defendant's post-trial motion, which ordered the $60 million in compensatory damages the jury awarded remain intact, and reduced the punitive damages to $120 million plus pre-and post-trial interest. Simon Law Attorneys Tim Cronin, John G. Simon and Nathan Perlmutter tried the case. The victim was 13 years old at the time of the rape at a behavioral health institution in central Illinois. https://ow.ly/mCxj50TMTa8
