This week, East Texas A&M University officially broke ground on its highly anticipated Event Center—a game-changer for athletics, entertainment, and community engagement in Northeast Texas. "The Sports Facilities Companies is a group we are going to hire with the charge to fill this space 365 days a year -- from trade shows to robotic competitions and other initiatives." ~ Mark Rudin, Ph.D., President of East Texas A&M University, stated at the groundbreaking press conference The 65,000 sq. ft. multi-use venue will serve as the home for the Lions men’s & women’s basketball and volleyball while also hosting concerts, graduations, conventions, and more. Designed as the centerpiece of a larger event district, this $70M investment will create a hub for student life and economic growth in Commerce, TX. We’re proud to be part of this transformative project, bringing top-tier facilities to support NCAA Division I athletics, enhance the student-athlete experience, and strengthen community partnerships. Pickleball isn’t just a game -- it’s a life-changing sport. For pickleball players Sherri Bracewell and Carla Cox, stepping onto the court at SFC's Rhythm & Rally Sports & Events in Macon, GA, kickstarted a powerful health journey. Bracewell committed to playing six days a week and lost over 90 pounds, while Cox combined pickleball with mindful eating to drop more than 50 pounds and regain her passion for fitness. Their advice? Just start. As Cox puts it, "Your journey will never end, it is your journey. But the biggest part of that is you started it."
