Feeling super grateful this morning to have been a part of yet another fanatastic event hosted by The Table 🤍 UK launch 🤍 Last night we invited our guests to join us in our London office to initiate a conversation around “Navigating gender bias in the workplace.” Speaking with both the panelists and the attendees, really opened my eyes to some of the unconscious gender bias we see in our day to day. We also discussed the ways that we, as a collective - along with mentors/allies/support networks, can work to ensure we are taking actions to address these behaviours and educate those around us to ensure we can have the most positive impact going forward. On a personal note, it allowed me to reflect on previous situations early on within my own personal career, where I turned a blind eye to certain behaviours or patterns of derogatory comments simply due to the fact that I was a female in a workplace, surrounded by leaders that weren’t able to support or help me navigate through this. It is so important that we have influencal leaders in our space of both men/women alike to really push all of these messages throughout the funnel. To summarize - what a fantastic event Forsyth Barnes hosted. An incredible opportunity for everyone to get involved in these topics and understand how we can have an impact going forward. The next event cannot come soon enough🤍 If you are a leader that is passionate about these topics and is working to create a culture where gender bias is stamped out - please reach out and connect with any of us at FB - if you’d be interested in attending, supporting or even mentoring - we’d love you to be a part of this community. #thetable #femaleleaders #genderbias Corin Stabler Brogan Lees-Collier Jessica Dobie Phoebe K. I’ve been out of the networking game for a few months but I was so excited to get stuck back in last night with a powerful event at Forsyth Barnes on gender bias at work. We had an amazing panel consisting of Angela Livingstone, Harj Bains MBA, Kimberley Bird & Mary Macbeth. My key take aways were this: 🤔 Regularly examine your own biases at work & consider how they might influence your actions. 😮 Even if you’re part of a certain community, you can still have bias towards them. 💬 Encourage open dialogue with colleagues about their perceptions & experiences. ♥️ Find allies at work who will stand up for what is fair. A common experience that the female panelists & audience members seemed to share was that we’ve all experienced being interrupted consistently by our male peers.
