Earlier this week, we held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for The University of Kansas Cancer Center in Olathe. Olathe Health began its cancer care program in 1990. By becoming part of The University of Kansas Cancer Center, patients have access to additional cancer care resources and options closer to home. We are excited to celebrate this milestone and see the ways our teams are working together to provide incredible care for our patients!

We had a great time teaming with with the KC Current on Friday night to bring awareness to women's cancers! The highlights: – Before the game, fans stopped by our tent to learn more about women's cancer and filled out "I Kick Cancer for" cards to show their support for family and friends affected by the disease. – Linda Lyon, advocate for women's cancer awareness, passed the ceremonial first kick to Jeff Wright, senior vice president of Cancer Services, The University of Kansas Cancer Center. – Represented by hematologist and medical oncologist Dr. Anne O'Dea, the Women's Cancer Center was honored as one of three of United Way of Greater Kansas City's Waymakers. – Radiation oncologist Dr. Melisa Boersma participated in Helzberg Diamonds' kick game at halftime.
