With the next round of UN Plastics Treaty discussions coming up quickly, it's a great time to remind everyone that PVC products play a vital role in reaching various United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Our products deliver clean drinking water to communities worldwide, provide safe healthcare environments, keep food and drinks safe for longer, and are vital for the building and construction industry! https://lnkd.in/emwH8dNJ

About us
From the alarm clock that wakes you up in the morning to the house that keeps you comfortable and safe at night, vinyl plays a vital role in your everyday life. It is truly one material with infinite uses. Vinyl is the material for life. Vinyl products can be found in just about every home or business, in hundreds of different applications. Because of the physical nature of this versatile plastic, vinyl can be rigid or flexible, weather or heat resistant, impact resistant, thick or thin, and any color of the rainbow. We're the Vinyl Institute, a U.S. trade organization representing leading manufacturers of vinyl, vinyl chloride monomer, vinyl additives and modifiers, and vinyl packaging materials. Our vinyl resin manufacturers produce 15 billion pounds of resin annually in the US -- 10 billion pounds goes into US vinyl products, the other 5 billion pounds are exported. Seventy percent of the resin used in the United States goes into the building and construction market -- with almost half of that going into large diameter PVC pipes for water infrastructure. Other vinyl building products include roofing, cladding, windows, decking, fencing, flooring, wall covering, coated electrical wiring and jacketing, and coated fabrics. Other markets served by the US vinyl resin manufacturing include medical devices (blood bags, tubing), transportation, adhesives, inks and coatings, electronics, furniture, industrial machinery and packaging. The U.S. vinyl industry employs over 350,000 highly skilled employees at nearly 3,000 facilities and generates an economic value of $54.4 billion. This week is National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. What better way to prevent lead poisoning in our communities than by transitioning our aging pipe infrastructure to utilize the material with the lowest break rate of any major water pipe, a 100+ year service life, and—best of all—no lead! PVC pipes are the right and safe choice for America's water infrastructure. https://lnkd.in/gt_xYkpA
