The Webby Awards

Last week, Mythical hosted its first in-house event for Creator executives, bringing 40 of the best creative and business brains in the industry together at our studio to hear The Webby Awards GM Nick Borenstein give a talk aptly titled "It's Giving Brain Rot." The discussion that followed explored how chronically online culture -- from Grimace shakes to Brat Summer to Moo Deng -- has influenced the way Creators, brands, ad agencies, and even politicians communicate with today's audiences. Special thanks to Nick for leading the session and for making Creator-led entertainment a special focus for the Webbys, this year more than ever. Thanks in turn to Mythical's Senior Director of Creator Growth Gwen Miller for assembling this smart crowd, full of energy and insights. Many more to come!

The Webby Awards and the NAACP have formed a dynamic partnership over several years, centered on thought leadership and collaboration that unite creators, technology leaders, artists, and brands to address key issues impacting communities of color online. This ongoing collaboration has provided actionable insights for their respective communities, contributing to a more inclusive Internet and ensuring that diverse voices are both heard and valued. In "Black & Viral," the latest collaboration between The Webby Awards and the NAACP, the focus will be on how Black content creators are leveraging their digital influence to advocate for their communities, build thriving businesses, and celebrate the significant impact of their work. The series will explore Internet virality, community building, and creativity through the lens of Black creators, featuring insights from viral creators, leading brand executives, platform leaders, and more.
