👉 For every 1% increase in employee perceptions of equity and justice, employee job satisfaction went up by almost 30%. When you consider that job dissatisfaction causes 68% of employees to be disengaged at work, costing U.S. companies between $450 to $550 billion annually, a 30% increase in job satisfaction can be transformative. This is what we found in our recently released thought paper that covers 20 organizations over three years. Our recommendations and guidance are available in the full report. Implementing these steps will help your organization increase job satisfaction, improve decision-making by incorporating inclusive values, and raise leadership self-awareness for systemic and sustainable change management. Inclusion is powerful. By its very definition, inclusion supports EVERYONE. And it’s a proven strategy for workplace success: Inclusive teams are over 35% more productive and diverse teams make better decisions 87% of the time. The 2025 Justice for All Summit invites attendees to explore the different cultural factors that impact how we show up at work. Together with prominent thought leaders in the fields of diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and justice, we will collectively develop the tools and skills needed to create spaces where differences are not only recognized but also celebrated as strengths. Building on these strengths, we can develop the skills to bridge across differences related to race, gender, culture, sexual orientation, ability, and other important aspects of identity. Sessions will take a deep dive into the nuances of cultural competence, neurodiversity, generational differences, and more. This is the POWER of inclusion. If you are interested in presenting a session at our upcoming virtual conference, complete our proposal (due Oct 18) here: https://lnkd.in/eDyCp4md If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of the event, send us a DM and we'll send you more info. #DiversityAndInclusion #DiversityEquityInclusion #SocialJustice #SocialChange #RacialJusticeAtWork #JusticeForAll

A whopping 48% of parents say that their stress is completely overwhelming most days, compared with 26% of other adults, according to a recent advisory from the U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy. This can adversely affect the mental health of children who are the very future of our society, and the problem has gotten worse over time, with new challenges presented by technology, social media, and what Dr. Murthy’s calls “an epidemic of loneliness.” “With this Advisory, I am calling for a fundamental shift in how we value and prioritize the mental health and well-being of parents,” said Dr. Murthy in the advisory’s announcement. “I am also outlining policies, programs, and individual actions we can all take to support parents and caregivers,” including guidelines for governmental agencies, employers, community organizations, schools, health and social systems, researchers, family and friends, and parents and caregivers. In the workplace, employers can make a meaningful difference by heeding the Surgeon General’s calls for expanding policies and offerings that specifically support parents’ well-being. Not surprisingly, many of these suggestions also benefit those who are not parents. These include: 👉 paid parental, medical, and sick leave 👉 flexible and fair work schedules 👉 access to child care on site or in the community 👉 implementing training for managers to help them recognize stress and mental health challenges and promote work-life balance 👉 actively including parents in leadership roles so that they can support the well-being of other parents in the workplace 👉 providing access to high-quality mental health care through health insurance and confidential counseling services, such as those offered through Employee Wellness Programs (EWPs) and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) Want to read more tips for supporting parents in the workplace? If anyone is still looking for a business case for DEI, here it is! Thank you Megan Larson, Ed.D. and Mary-Frances Winters. When we do for the most vulnerable, the most oppressed, the most devalued and those with the least voice and power, EVERYONE benefits.

There is a rapidly spreading misconception — systematically organized and advanced as propaganda by those without an understanding of DEI but an agenda against it — that DEI only exists to unfairly advance members of marginalized communities because it’s something they couldn’t accomplish on their own merits … or some Machiavellian plan to create a new world order. The truth is, EVERYONE benefits from DEI. It’s the whole point. DEI is for, and benefits, literally everyone. Regardless of your personal dimensions of diversity, you’ve benefitted from one or more DEI policies. Megan Larson, Ed.D. outlined a few DEI policies, practices, or benefits you might have experienced: https://lnkd.in/ev567dXd Repost this so that we can set the record straight and continue to be #DEIProud!
