At the Community Foundation of Noble County, we are passionate about making our community a better place to call home. Since 1991, we’ve worked to connect generous donors with opportunities that create lasting, positive change. Today, we pause to reflect on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his inspiring message of justice, compassion, and service to others. Dr. King once said, “Philanthropy is commendable, but it must not cause the philanthropist to overlook the circumstances of economic injustice which make philanthropy necessary.” His words remind us of the importance of addressing both immediate needs and the bigger picture to build a brighter future for everyone. As we also mark Inauguration Day, we are reminded of the shared responsibility to work together, no matter our background or beliefs, to strengthen our community. Whether through volunteering, supporting local nonprofits, or simply lending a helping hand to a neighbor, each of us can be a catalyst for positive change. Join us in honoring Dr. King’s legacy by taking action to make Noble County an even better place to live, work, and grow. Together, we can make a difference.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. envisioned a world where everyone has access to three meals a day, highlighting the need to address food insecurity. Today, many families, including the working hungry, still struggle to afford enough food. Solutions like food pantries, community gardens, and policy advocacy can help bridge this gap. By working together, we can honor Dr. King’s vision and create a future where no one goes hungry. #FoodInsecurity #MLK #HungerSolutions
