October is National Disability Awareness Month (NDEAM), and to kick it off we are proud to share a piece of Melody's Story: Melody Lacombe is a janitor on the GSA, Massena Land Port of Entry contract that the Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence holds in partnership with SourceAmerica. Melody has been a member of the team for 10 years, and first found the position through our Agency's Career Solutions program with the help of her Employment Aide. She enjoys her work, and is often praised for her high standard of work by both the Massena Land Port of Entry staff and visitors. She is proud to have a job that allows her to be independent while still staying close to her family. She has made special effort to represent our agency and advocate for herself and employment for people with disabilities. She has met with staffers from Senator Gillibrand’s office, Senator Schumer’s office, and Representative Elise Stefanik’s office to share her story and gain support from her local legislators. #TheArcJSLC #NDEAM #SourceAmerica
