What an exciting week to be in charge of social media at the Houston Botanic Garden! It's been fun "playing" along with my counterparts at the Houston Zoo and Theatre Under The Stars to help spread the word about the great things all of our organizations are doing in Houston.

Today I got to meet the entire VILLAGE behind Theatre Under The Stars’ Little Shop of Horrors and it was extraordinary getting to meet all of the unique members working behind the scenes; in the office; onstage; onset; in the box office; you name it!! 🩸🌱 Feed the Need—Not the Plants! 🌱🩸 In honor of Little Shop of Horrors, Theatre Under The Stars is teaming up with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center for a special blood drive! Join us October 23 & 24 from 3-7 p.m. outside Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center and donate to save lives (not to feed Audrey II!). Last night we celebrated our TUTS Board with an exclusive standing ovation at the Parlour Hideaway Bar in the fabulous C. Baldwin Hotel. Thank you to our dedicated leaders for helping us kick off our 24/25 season and for your continued support in all we do here at Theatre Under The Stars!

This month some of the youth from the Opportunity Center, Leadership Academy, and Youth Village of the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department had the chance to tour Theatre Under The Stars and to see our production of DEAR EVAN HANSEN! 🎭 Witnessing Evan's journey encouraged these young members to discuss their challenges and aspirations and see the impact of theatre on their lives. We are so grateful to be able to share the importance of the arts with our Houston community!

Our Theatre Under The Stars Education had the opportunity to be a part of the HOUSTON DISABILITY CELEBRATION with 20+ vendors, the Dance Pointe dancers, the HUBCAPS band, and winners (including our very own Brennan Emeka) of the CHAMPION OF INCLUSION (COIN)AWARDS. We’re so grateful to partner with the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities to celebrate the incredible people in our Houston community!
