  • MC 954343 is stealing freight. Multiple reports from various sources have confirmed this. Be cautious of two drivers associated with this MC. Aman Pannu, with an Ohio CDL, and Michael Rock, with a Pennsylvania CDL, have both taken loads under this number. It’s likely they are switching MC numbers as needed to carry out their scam. Chances are, Aman and Michael are picking up loads under different MCs today. Stay vigilant.

  • 🚨 Cargo Theft is Surging and It's More Organized Than Ever Cargo theft in the U.S. jumped 49% YoY in 2024, with organized crime driving the surge, according to Overhaul. Criminal gangs, including cartel-affiliated groups, are refining their tactics, targeting intermodal hubs like Dallas, Atlanta, and Phoenix, with hotspots in California, Texas, and Arizona. Some are even forcing illegal immigrants into theft rings under indentured servitude conditions. With electronics making up 24% of all stolen freight in the U.S., it’s clear that supply chain security is no longer just a concern, it’s a priority. Overhaul’s experts predict transnational crime groups will only expand further in the next three to five years. For freight brokers, carriers, and shippers, this isn’t just another headline, it’s a wake-up call. Protecting your freight starts long before it’s on the road. Avoiding theft begins with proactive fraud prevention and thoroughly vetting your counterparts. #SupplyChain #Logistics #CargoTheft #FreightSecurity

  • It's been a solid 8 months since we started seeing carriers insured by Geico. Today there are over 10,000 active Authorities with either Geico County, Geico Marine, or Geico General. I’m sure many of you have had to request a COI, call with questions, or even file a claim with Geico by now. So, what is the verdict? Better, same, or different than Progressive?

Travelers SIG (Special Investigation Group) knocks it out of the park! #Brokers #Carriers #Shippers if you don't have a Travelers cargo policy, I suggest you discuss it with your agent at renewal! #HIGHLYRECCOMEND Scott Cornell - Matt McCurdy is doin' things! His diligence with local law enforcement resulted in trhe carrier's trailer and OUR CUSTOMER'S FREIGHT recovered! #ShoutOut Background: Last Monday we were advised our carrier had the trailer they were hauling our customer's freight in stolen from the yard they parked in in Orlando, FL. Upon receiving the information I immediately notifed our SIG team. Matt was assigned and on it so quickly that he met the law enforcement taking the report at the scene. While our week was tense during the search, I received the phenomenal news of recovery from him on Sunday morning. Clay Sanders, CIC Cottingham & Butler

  • It is common practice for some freight brokers to avoid carriers with policies handled by certain insurance agencies. And don’t think those agencies aren’t aware. When you deny a load to a carrier and tell them it is because their insurance agency is flagged, you better believe their next call is to their insurance agent. A legit insurance producer would investigate why their agency is on a No-Fly list. A deceptive insurance producer would handle these situations by rebranding. We have seen it many times. GLG Insurance had a short run as Green Hills Insurance and Nevada Trucking Insurance. Golden Pro became Truck Secure and for a while we saw them as GZP. And don’t get me started on Tri County Insurance, I can’t keep up with their spinoffs. And some of the insurance rebrands have been rebranded. ITT Insurance is one of those agencies, and one of their attempts at a clean slate is Insurance Connect Center. Tim Bannon has always said, “Nobody changes their name unless they have something to hide.”

  • Central Valley Xpress Inc., MC 1180575, has been on our list for some time. They are a solid DNU in our book, but your mileage may vary. Their insurance policy is written through Fastline Commercial Insurance, one of those producers I always give a side-eye to when they show up. When you track these MCs and keep an eye on what’s happening around them, you find others like Colt Carrier Inc., MC 1523278. It’s not hard to connect these two carriers, and it becomes even easier when you see they share the same side-eye insurance agency. You can do the vetting yourself or save time and just check The Bannon Report.

  • If You’re Starting Your Own Authority, Read This   The moment you get your DOT number; your phone won’t stop ringing. Emails will flood in. Insurance agents, compliance companies and dispatchers every one of them saying they’re here to help. But they’re not.   They want your money. And they’ll use fear to get it. 💰 Insurance agents will say they’re the only good option; you’ll be “stuck” without them. That’s a lie. 📑 Compliance companies will claim you have 15 days to file something urgent or face fines. Another lie. 🚛 Some dispatchers will promise you loads but pull you into double brokering, ruining your record before you even know what’s happening.   I’ve seen too many new carriers fall for these traps. They just wanted to make a living. Instead, they got tangled in scams they never saw coming. If you’re just starting out, be careful. Read everything. Ignore the noise. And never rush into anything just because someone says you have to.   Once your name gets tied to fraud, there’s no going back.   I’m telling you this because I want you to succeed. Not because I want your money. #TheBannonReport 🚛 #3PL #FreightFraud #Prevention
