The Warrior Canine Connection program provides life-changing support to veterans like Army veteran Dave Snedeker, who struggled with PTSD after years of service. Through the program, veterans not only receive well-trained service dogs but also participate in training, experiencing healing and connection through "warriors helping warriors." Recently, Duquesne University students have joined this effort, socializing dogs and contributing to veterans' journeys to recovery. At the Blue Angels Foundation, we are proud to support initiatives like Warrior Canine Connection, helping veterans find companionship, stability, and new hope. https://lnkd.in/gvgsqXkW
About us
The Blue Angels Foundation’s mission is to support wounded veterans. The wounded veterans who proudly volunteered to serve our nation and preserve our freedoms are the same people today who need our time, treasure and talents to provide a path of transition back to the civilian community and a life of dignity and fulfillment. Thanks to you, each year we are expanding our footprint and impact in critical areas facing the wounded veteran and their family through our association with key benefactors around the nation. We have identified and are supporting organizations that assist veterans in key areas: transitional housing, counseling, PTSD resolution, permanent housing, life skills, transportation and employment. By joining hands we can have a huge and positive impact on understanding and resolving PTSD, saving lives and promoting positive transitions for the wounded veteran and their family. Please join with us in these critical needs for our veterans, their families and our nation. We are veterans helping veterans. At the Blue Angels Foundation, this isn’t just a phrase—it’s our mission. As former service members, we know firsthand the challenges our fellow veterans face as they transition back to civilian life. That’s why we are committed to standing by their side, offering the support they need to heal and thrive. Through strategic partnerships, we support organizations that are making a difference in the lives of veterans every day, including: 🔵Programs offering PTSD treatment to address the invisible wounds of war, such as post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression. 🔵Service dog organizations that provide veterans with specially trained companions to help with emotional and physical challenges. 🔵Job training and placement programs that help veterans find meaningful employment and build successful post-military careers. Together, we are building a brighter future for veterans. Together, we are saving lives. (Thank you to Blue Angel Phantoms for the video. Barriers to timely PTSD diagnosis continue to hinder veterans from receiving the care they need. A recent study presented at the American Psychiatric Nurses Association highlighted factors such as limited access to care, provider shortages, and treatment avoidance, all contributing to delayed PTSD treatment. This is critical, as untreated PTSD is linked to both mental and physical health issues, including depression, anxiety, and cardiovascular diseases. At the Blue Angels Foundation, we’re committed to addressing these barriers by supporting organizations that provide innovative, holistic treatments and essential resources like PTSD therapy, service dogs, and transitional housing for our veterans. Together, we can ensure that no veteran is left behind in their healing journey. https://lnkd.in/gfPqmWba
