📚 October is #NationalBookMonth, and in celebration of the rich diversity of #HispanicHeritageMonth, I’m sharing this moving story I worked on earlier this year with former WLRN Public Media education reporter Kate Payne highlighting the member expansion of The Children's Trust of Miami-Dade County Book Club. Now, even more parents can sign up to receive free books delivered right to their doorstep for children ages birth to five. This is an incredible program for parents to engage intentionally with their little ones. Families can choose books in English, Spanish, and even request special editions in Haitian Creole! https://lnkd.in/esEEStDY

After-school programs provide vital resources in areas like arts, STEM, sports, and college readiness. Juliette Fabien, MBA, RN, Chief Programs Officer at The Children’s Trust, shares information on the free or low-cost programs The Trust supports across the county. Thank you to the Miami Herald for the opportunity to highlight the benefits of after-school programming. A parent’s, particularly a father’s, responsibility is to leave a legacy where your children start from a place of prominence, not from poverty or privation. Pure wisdom from Anthony L. Robinson, Executive Director of Overtown Children And Youth Coalition. A special thank you to Ismail for being an incredible co-host. Check out MIA MEDIA GROUP, LLC on Facebook and YouTube for the full episode that aired this past Sunday. About 1 in 5 individuals have dyslexia or a related learning disability. Dyslexia affects many children, and raising awareness is critical to ensuring they receive the support and resources they need. Children with dyslexia can succeed with proper early intervention, but without it they are more likely to struggle academically and experience low self-esteem. At The Children’s Trust, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive and together, we can break down barriers and create pathways to success for children with dyslexia. #WeAreTCT #DyslexiaAwarenessMonth #SupportingAllLearners #BuildingBrighterFutures

It's time for another edition of #TrustTuesday! Today, we are featuring Trust-funded Le Jardin Community Center, Inc. and the Head Start and Early Head Start programs. They are Miami-Dade County programs that support children's growth in a positive learning environment through various services, including early learning and development, health, and family well-being. With nine community centers across Homestead and Florida City, Le Jardin is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families by providing high-quality educational, recreational, and cultural activities and comprehensive services in a caring and nurturing environment. At Le Jardin, infants and toddlers have classrooms that prepare them for preschool, and Le Jardin Head Start preschool children enter kindergarten with advanced knowledge in reading and math. The Head Start program takes an innovative approach to school readiness by forming healthy nutritional habits and encouraging children to develop social and emotional skills. For more information on the programs Le Jardin Community Center offers, visit www.lejardinccinc.org #WeAreTCT #TrustTuesday #LeJardin #HeadStart #EarlyHeadStart
