Drink Craft, Drink The World...

About us

The Crafty Cask is a place for craft beer, wine, spirit, cider, sake (shall we go on?!) enthusiasts to learn, discover and enjoy their passion for craft alcohol. A place that’s dedicated to telling the stories behind the craft, the history, up and coming innovations, lesser known drinks and, of course, the incredible people and places behind it all. And we're going to do it with a little bit of sass and a whole lot of fun. Our mission? We envision a future where the craft alcohol artisans are more broadly appreciated, understood and sought out by consumers as they travel the world allowing them to experience a truly immersive taste of place. This newfound appreciation will provide the support needed so that the true spirit of artisan alcohol production is preserved, transparent and sustainably profitable for craft alcohol producers around the world. Our approach is two-fold. We create fun, educational content (video is one of our specialties!) for our craft enthusiast consumer followers, who we affectionately call Tippler Nation. We also work with incredible craft alcohol producers around the world to help spread awareness, interest and ultimately sales. Helping consumers learn and have fun while helping craft producers be successful is a win-win and what we're all about at The Crafty Cask. We have high standards and only work with producers that we love. If we don't want to tell your story and shout it from the rooftops naturally then we won't work with you...but the only way you'll know is if you reach out and introduce yourself! Greetings, Tippler Nation! You know I love my spirited reading, and I am particularly psyched for this brand new book THAT IS BLOWING MY MIND. A Most Noble Water is all about the history of GIN and guess what? Everything we thought we knew about mother's ruin is WRONG. I had the pleasure of going out for martinis with authors and I gotta tell ya, they are as entertaining on the page as they are in person. For more of my go-to boozy book recs, head on over to our blog.

Do we detect a crispness in the air? Fall for us means time for apples and no one does apples better than New York! We suppose we could put on some matching sweaters, truck on out to an orchard, and go apple picking, but we'd rather head to a place where the apples have already been harvested, pressed, and fermented to juicy, fizzy perfection: Brooklyn Cider House! Want to learn all about this fantastic cider house? Jena zipped up there on the back of a motorcycle to interview owner Peter Yi on our blog...link in bio to read all about her apple adventures! https://lnkd.in/garjY_XX

Whiskey bars are special places. I've been in more than my fair share of them so now I am sharing a few of my favorites with you as we wind down Bourbon Heritage Month and head into the weekend! Yes, a few are in some unexpected geographical locations, but all of these bars have more than just a fantastic bottle selection--they instantly make you feel at home. These are bars that make me want to go back, pull up a bar stool, and have a conversation over a dram picked out by the bartender. What are your favorite whiskey bars? Let me know where I should drink next in the comments below and don't forget to sign up for our mailing list to stay in the loop on my spirited travel guides or get recommendations for your own boozy travel!

Rum in Vermont? YES! Rum has long been part of the fabric of New England. In fact there were over 100 distilleries making rum in New England by the mid 1700s! To bring it way-way back, the Sugar Tax had more to do with the American Revolution than tea did. That sugar and its byproducts (ahem: molasses) were used to distill one thing: rum. Fast forward to 2011 when a few forward thinking Vermonters decided to repurpose Cold Spring farm in the Mad River Valley with the goal of distilling spirits with a sense of history and place. They might’ve started with apples for brandy, but they wound up making some wicked good rum! Click on over to our blog to meet one of our fave rum producers: Mad River Distillers! https://lnkd.in/gZqtweqK
