CXO Fellows Program

🎓 🎉 A big congratulations to the FY24 CXO Fellows Program Graduating Class! Over the past year, this program has equipped GS 9 - 13 federal employees with high leadership potential with crucial skills in leadership, communication, and networking. These future leaders also gained insights into five key functional areas within the government — Acquisition, Data, Financial Management, Human Capital, and Information Technology — enabling them to help meet their agency missions with an enterprise-wide perspective. Angela McPherson has held various roles since joining GSA, progressing from Program Specialist to Senior Advisor to CXO Fellows Program Director. What makes her journey extraordinary is that she now leads the very program she once participated in. Angela has successfully led the program since 2020. She has shared her leadership knowledge and federal connections with over 400 fellows, helping them navigate government functions and agencies. Her goal is to ensure each Fellow finds their place in the government and develops their voice as a leader. Every year, hundreds of Federal Government employees apply to participate in the CXO Fellows Program to grow their professional development skills. Since the CXO Fellows Program is virtual, we’ve had the honor of supporting Fellows from Hawaii to Idaho to Texas to Georgia to Washington, D.C., to name a few. Our latest spotlight lives in Massachusetts. Darren Shaffer, Contracting Officer for the U.S. Department of Transportation, shared what he learned from participating in the program, “I learned techniques that enabled me to be confident in reaching out to others and networking.” Fostering growth ✔️,  confidence ✔️, and a strong professional network ✔️.
