Education as Unique as our Learners
About us
The Edison School is a private co-educational day school focusing on Kindergarten through 12th grade students. In 2012 the school began by focusing on educating students with learning differences. Because we believe the education we provide benefits all students, we do NOT require a diagnosis for a student to enroll. Smaller classes and truly individualized programs for each student allow our students to thrive while reaching for their potential academically, socially, and emotionally. At The Edison School, our transformation under Dr. Wilson's leadership since 2018 has been profound; we've grown from a K-8 to a K-12 institution, proudly witnessing our first high school graduates in May 2024. The staff fosters an inclusive environment, where students with special needs thrive alongside their peers. Edison's administration equips educators to embrace and support diverse learning needs, evident in our partnership with local therapeutic programs and dual enrollment initiatives. This commitment to educational excellence and inclusion is the cornerstone of our strategic plan, guiding The Edison School into a future where every student's potential is recognized and nurtured. We meet our students where they are by providing an intimate and encouraging academic community that honors them as individuals, values each student's diverse learning style, and fosters growth. Our campus is located in Madison, TN.

It is with a heavy heart that we share a loss within The Edison School community. On Sunday, April 21, Mrs. Allison Wolhaupter passed away. Allison joined the staff at Edison during the 2015-2016 school year. She spent the next several years teaching the youngest age classroom at The Edison School until she retired in May of 2023. Allison had an infectious smile and a big heart shown in how she loved all her students. She made a tremendous impact on the lives of her students and parents and was a mentor for young teachers. Allison was available to listen to the concerns of new teachers and provide guidance. She had an enthusiastic sense of humor that would help lighten demanding situations. Allison left a legacy of love at Edison that will live on for years to come. A visitation will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 1:00 with a Celebration of Life service at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Edison School 610 W. Old Hickory Blvd. Madison TN 37115. https://lnkd.in/e5v389XP
