The Dutch have a saying: 'Just act normal because that's crazy enough'. As positioning and thought leadership experts focused on creative and emerging tech industries, we call bullsh*t. We believe that successful brands and leaders are bold, challenging, passionate, and unafraid to rock the status quo. As a brand, 'normal' is your enemy, because you'll continue to go unnoticed, no matter how big, small or B2B you are. As the magnificent Dr. Marcus Collins has said: "Be different to be remembered." It's a crowded market out there for production companies and creative businesses facing a tough year financially. To stand out and to have cut-through, you have to be brave. Our founder Kerrie Finch shared this at the recent event organised by Olaf van Gerwen (Chuck Studios), Saskia Baneke and VIA Nederland. The event focused on how creative companies can better position themselves and grow through earned attention. She talked best practice positioning and thought leadership for impact and growth. Get in touch if you'd like to learn more about how to raise your game.

Founder, Kerrie Finch, has chosen her ultimate happy place: on stages around the globe as the circus ringmaster at conferences, festivals, and corporate events. She gets a kick out of creating a community - for moments or hours, with 50 people or 1,500. It's all about that crystal-clear connection between speakers and audience. 📣 We've put together a showreel that showcases her gigs as a conference MC, stage host, program curator, interviewer, presenter, and panel chair. Her sweet spot sits at the nexus of emerging tech and creative innovation. 🎙 Catch Kerrie in action at SXSW (Austin), Web Summit (Lisbon), Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Step (Dubai), ADCE - Art Directors Club of Europe (Barcelona), 180 Global, SheSays (Amsterdam), Global Marketing Summit & Exhibition (Istanbul), CogX (London), ADCN | Club for Creativity (Amsterdam), MikeTeevee (Berlin), MET AMS (Amsterdam), and more. Massive shoutout to Tom and Didi at Chuck Studios for pulling together this killer showreel 👏 . If you get the chance to work with them, jump on it. Vulnerability, honesty, self belief, and boundaries are everything. And we simply don't have enough of it at work. It can lead to many issues -- burnout is just one of them for company founders and business leaders. Want to learn more? As a company founder and entrepreneur, Kerrie Finch speaks on 'how (not) to die on the job'. It's a hot topic and relevant for every business leader seeking to understand work-life harmony -- make sure you're at the forefront of the conversation. It could just save your life.
CMO turned Leadership Coach, I help mid career creatives improve their wellbeing and performance with leadership programs rooted in kindness | Author of ‘A Bad Hand Played Well’ - How to own your 90,000 hours at work’
How (not) to die on the job. There was openness, vulnerability and shared experiences in the room during yesterday’s panel discussion on wellbeing and ways to navigate and avoid burnout. Along with myself, Kerrie Finch (the FINCH factor) Camille John (DEI Consultant) and Sophie van der Schaft (&MediaGroup) shared insights and answered great questions from the audience touching on boundaries, self-belief and lessons learned and shared. Some key takeaways: Asking for help is hard, and there’s a sense that you’re ‘letting the team down’ if you step out of the business due to burnout – especially if you’re the Founder or leader of the business. In the long term, taking care of your own health first will benefit your team and our company, and may make you happier in the process. We should see ourselves as an ‘operating system’ - mind, body and soul – where everything is intertwined and connected. How physical and mental symptoms should not be ignored, it means there’s an issue somewhere that needs addressing, and addressing...now! Addressing feelings of doubt or imposter syndrome by saying to yourself, “be the imposter, they are the syndrome’ (meaning others) A powerful way to reframe the narrative and conversations we have with ourselves on a daily basis. How mindset and self-awareness is everything, and contributes to our wellbeing. Speaking up and asking questions - how it’s important to ask how people are doing. They may be unable to step up and express how they are truly feeling, lost in the fog of depression and uncertainty. Instead of asking, ‘How are you?’ be specific and ask ‘How has your day started?', and have the patience to dig in and give them space to share. Above all, be kind. It costs nothing, but means everything. Thanks to all the attendees, and shout out to Femke and the Events Team at Soho House & Co Amsterdam for hosting and providing the delicious breakfast and coffees. #kindness #mentalhealth #personaldevelopment
