One of systemic racism's greatest impacts is its socialization of all of us that Black is not investible. Most of us have internalized this and consciously/unconsciously perpetuate this inequity through our own decisions as well as through the institutions we lead. Because of this phenomenon, Black entrepreneurs, Black businesses, and Black institutions continue to have a difficult time attracting contracts, grants, loans, and other forms of investment. The Greater Durham Black Chamber of Commerce exists to combat this thought. Black is investible! Invest in Black entrepreneurs. Invest in Black businesses. Most importantly, we believe, invest in Black institutions and the Black business ecosystem!
