The NFL season is less than two weeks from starting, with the Kansas City Chiefs seeking a third consecutive Super Bowl championship. 7+38+55=100. Pretty simple math. But that same equation also applies in communication. Back in 1967, a UCLA professor published research related to communication: 7 percent of communication is conveyed by our words 38 percent comes via our tone of voice 55 percent comes through body language When it comes to business and emotional intelligence, the 7+38+55 rule is tremendous. Focus your attention on what's most likely to provide insights when you are unable to read the intent or emotions of other people. You can win for losing. For Google, a judges decision that they are a monopoly is search text advertising might actually be a win. A $20B annual win. As Inc. Magazine points out, the judgement is most likely not going to change the behavior for most people. Google is ubiquitous with search.
