When a little girl’s favorite pastime is creating her own math problems, there’s a high probability she’ll grow up to be a Certified Public Accountant. And that’s exactly what Crystal Mitchell, CPA did. “𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴,” says Crystal, who today is OTO Development’s assistant controller. Her early passion for math evolved into a love for problem-solving and an innate enthusiasm for life-long learning. After garnering a dozen years of accounting experience at various companies — including a stint at Extended Stay America during its Johnson Group days — Crystal joined OTO as a tax accountant in 2013. She’s earned multiple promotions and, in 2018, Crystal was honored as OTO’s Home Office Contributor of the Year. Crystal counts plenty of fun hobbies among her out-of-office favorites — think camping, crafting, and flying quad-line stunt kites. She also finds huge joy in her Mini Cooper, volunteering as treasurer and event planner for a club of local “MINIacs” who take group rides on twisty, mountain roads and also raise funds for various non-profits. Exciting news! Rob Rain, JDA’s former President of our Industrial division, has assumed a new role as Chief Executive Officer at our sister company, OTO Development. In light of this transition, we are pleased to announce two key leadership changes at JDA: Blake Spencer, who has been instrumental as our Chief Financial Officer, will step into the role of President of Industrial. In this position, Blake will leverage his strategic vision and financial expertise to drive growth and lead the division through its next phase of development. Blake has been a tremendous asset to the company in his role as CFO, and we are confident that his leadership will bring continued success to the Industrial division. We are equally excited to welcome Brooks Cochran as our new Chief Financial Officer. Brooks’ tenure at JDA has been marked by significant achievements in his prior roles as Director of Operations for the Industrial division and Director of Finance. His comprehensive experience, both in finance and operations, and his work at our sister company, American Credit Acceptance, provide him with a unique perspective to guide JDA’s financial strategy. We are confident Brooks’ leadership will ensure our continued financial health, stability, and growth. We look forward to the continued success and leadership that Rob, Blake, and Brooks will bring in their respective new roles!
