What is drawing Latinos towards the GOP, and how does history help contextualize these shifting concerns? Donald Trump's has made of anti-immigration rhetoric a centerpiece of his campaign. He has referred to immigrants as "drug-lords" and "rapists," repeatedly claiming that they are "poisoning the blood" of the United States. Yet, since he made it to the presidential ticket, the former president's share of the Latino vote has grown by eight percentage points, a swing that looks set to increase in next week's election. As the Latino vote has grown to represent 14.7% of the national electorate, the GOP is once again making a push to garner support across the demographic. In a pitch to Latino voters in Miami, Trump called Kamala Harris "a radical left lunatic" who will turn the country into "Venezuela." The former President is on track to become the first Republican in two decades to beat his Democratic counterpart among Hispanic voters in Florida. Are you worried? Nearly four years since the U.S. Capitol was assaulted by a mob of supporters of then-President Donald Trump, a poll revealed that voters have growing concerns of potential violence and the possibility of another attempt to overturn this year's electoral results. With Election Day one week away, a new survey conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research revealed that many voters feel "extremely" or "very" concerned about another violent attempt to overturn the results on November 5. Concretely, about four in 10 registered voters say they are fearful of a new attempt to overturn the election's results, with a similar share worried about legal efforts to do so. Moreover, about one in three also said they are "extremely" or "very" concerned about attempts by local or state election officials to stop the results from being tallied. Who fills the roles that citizens pass up? 3 in 4 voters (75%) say undocumented immigrants fill jobs that citizens are unwilling to take, while 61% believe the same about legal immigrants, acording to a recent Pew Research Center survey. According to the results, supporters of both Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump agree that undocumented immigrants largely take unwanted jobs, though differences are noticeable between the two groups, as 90% of Harris supporters express this view, compared to 59% of Trump supporters. Similarly, while 70% of Harris supporters say legal immigrants take unwanted jobs, only 52% of Trump supporters agree. Read more: https://lnkd.in/epdWW4tS #Immigration #Jobs #Work

What are your thoughts on this comedian's offensive remarks at Trump’s campaign rally? "I don't know if you guys know this, but there's literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it's called Puerto Rico," said comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at Donald Trump's rally in New York. He followed with additional offensive jokes about Latino and Black voters, as well as the Middle East, sparking significant backlash. Trump campaign senior adviser Danielle Alvarez quickly responded, stating that the comedian's comments "do not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign." At 36, his son Gilbert's current age, Mexican-American actor Danny Trejo was in prison. Watching him behind the camera while filming "Seven Cemeteries," his latest movie, fills Trejo with indescribable pride—not only because he has managed to create a life for his family that's a 180-degree turn from his own. "At his age, I was in prison. But he has truly built a life. I mean, he's a DJ, he's a director. So, it was amazing to watch him work. Plus, he loves what I do!" said the iconic artist in an interview with The Latin Times. The experience is even sweeter because, for years, he saw him follow a path similar to his own. "We thought we were going to lose him, but he's been sober for 10 years. Plus, he loves what I do. We both talk about how the good Lord has blessed us with what we do, you know? And, well, it's incredible." Watch the interview: https://lnkd.in/eqTpjfSK #DannyTrejo #SevenCementeries #Film

Carlos Torres, one of the most prominent Colombian actors in Spanish-language television, delivers an outstanding performance as Gabriel del Pino, his latest character in the Telemundo telenovela "Sed de Venganza." Internationally known for his iconic role as Charly Flow in the hit telenovela "La Reina del Flow," Torres has solidified his career by taking on deep and complex roles. However, his most recent challenge—playing a man who suffers from sexual impotence, a dissatisfying marriage, and family issues that push him to his emotional breaking point—might be one of the most intriguing yet.
