In my last semester of Columbia Law School, I have spent so much time reflecting on how daunted I felt four years ago at the beginning of this journey. Overcoming the challenging application process fueled my deep desire to help pre-law students successfully navigate their path. This past year, I have had the opportunity to spread our work at The Legal Gist to ten colleges across the country, including my alma mater, Columbia University, New York University, Northwestern University, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, University of California, Riverside, and UC San Diego. In these pre-law sessions, I provide a free guide to students on applying to law school, including all of the resources featured on The Legal Gist. (thelegalgist.com) It has been so empowering to speak to affinity pre-law organizations with predominantly underrepresented, first-gen students, and women, as I was once in their shoes and understand the deep importance of showing how they can make their dreams a reality. While my law school journey is almost over, I look forward to the opportunity to continue these programs and shine a light on all of the resources out there. I am thankful for the growing community of The Legal Gist, as I now lead over 20 students at schools across the country to continue our work. Talking to pre-law students inspires me every day as I reach closer to the finish line of becoming an attorney! It was an honor to speak to organizations like UCR Womxn in the Law , Columbia Undergraduate Law Review, The Society of Hispanic Students in Law at UC San Diego, NYU Undergraduate Law Society , and UCSB Pre-Law Society. #prelaw #lawschool
