The Lodge at Torrey Pines is pleased to announce Jakub Skyvara has joined us as General Manager. Jakub is receiving the torch from Bill Gross, who is retiring after 18 years of exceptional service to our property. Jakub brings a wealth of experience in luxury hospitality leadership from renowned properties across multiple continents. Most recently, he served as Executive Assistant Manager at The Resort at Pelican Hill. Previously, Jakub served as the Food and Beverage Director at Sunset Marquis Hotel & Villas in West Hollywood as well as at Viceroy Hotels and Resorts in Santa Monica. He was Michelin Stars Restaurants Director at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong and held various Food and Beverage management roles at Four Seasons properties in Santa Fe, Los Angeles, Lana’i, Philadelphia, and Prague. Jakub’s passion for fostering extraordinary guest and employee experiences makes him the ideal leader to continue the tradition of excellence at The Lodge. During his time at the Lodge, (first as Director of Food & Beverage, then as Hotel Manager, and since 2014, as our General Manager), we earned an incredible 18 back-to-back five-diamond awards.
