Proposition 1 has diverted 30% of county mental health funding to state programs, bringing an end to local services like The Priority Center's Adult In-Home Crisis Stabilization Program, which has provided critical support to those in need. This loss not only negatively impacts our community but also The Priority Center itself. In response, we've created our Emergency Fund for Hope Campaign to ensure we can continue providing strength and stability to more than 6,700 children and families who rely on our services. The Priority Center would like to say a big THANK YOU to all the incredible corporate partners and volunteers who made our 2024 Ready, Set, Learn Back-to-School Distribution Drive a huge success! Together, over 600 backpacks were donated to The Priority Center, serving nearly 250 families, including a delivery to the County of Orange Social Services, whose Resource Department, along with Social Workers, deliver backpacks to families in need. Help Us Continue Saving Lives! The passage of Proposition 1 in California is a grave concern for The Priority Center. Our vital and life-saving Adults In-Home Crisis Program is being dismantled, leaving some of the most dependent members of our community vulnerable. The diversion of 30% of mental health program funding to state programs, amounting to a $2.2 million loss in funding to The Priority Center, is beyond devastating. We at The Priority Center are deeply worried about the individuals who rely on us most. Without our support, at-risk children and families are left without the life-saving assistance they desperately need.
