Let your 'insanity' lead- Naveen Tewari’s take on entrepreneurship Naveen Tewari’s session at Unconference ’24 was filled with Insights on how he built two unicorns in India where building and scaling one unicorn takes a lifetime for many. InMobi’s Growth Trajectory: - Target Valuation: Eyeing an estimated valuation of $10 billion in its anticipated 2025 IPO. - FY23 Revenue: $41 million - Glance by InMobi: Engages 235 million active users on Glance lock screens worldwide. He shared insights into scaling InMobi and Glance blending ambitious global goals with genuine local impact. But perhaps what stood out most was his take on leadership and the role of what he calls “insanity” in driving big ideas forward. Naveen covered a range of topics, from the latest industry trends to how AI is going to reshape the industry in coming years. But his message about embracing your unique spark really resonated: hold onto your “insanity” because that’s what drives big ideas. In his words, “You don't delegate insanity to someone else and say, 'Oh, you're a product manager, so you have to be insane like me, right?' It doesn't work that way. You have to keep the insanity to yourself & you have to keep the ability to be crazy to yourself.” This clearly means some of the wildest, most ambitious parts of building products come from your heart—and only you can bring them to life. His approach reminded us that some of the most daring and impactful ideas come from within—and they’re often things only you can manifest. A huge shoutout to our amazing partners - Mixpanel, Stream, VWO, Bureau, Figma, Cashfree Payments, Contentsquare, OTPLESS, CleverTap, Locomo.io, Segwise.ai, Infinyte Club, Vahan.ai, Plotline, Introbot AI, Parallel, Bombay Locale®, Indian Financial Forum, Urban Platter, Sockscarving, Lamhenow, Multipl, FUELL —Your support made this day possible! Thank you to Navin Madhavan for moderating such an unforgettable session. Hopefully, everyone left not just with fresh insights but a renewed drive to let their own “crazy side” lead the way!

Why do we keep coming back to apps, driven by little rewards and goals? ✨ Imagine the thrill of keeping up your Duolingo streak, closing those Apple Fitness rings, or grabbing that free coffee at Starbucks. These routines aren’t just habits—they’re built on clever design that taps into our love for play and progress. Welcome to the world of gamification, where strategies transform everyday interactions into engaging, rewarding experiences. So, why are top tech companies betting big on gamification? Because it works. Gamification turns routine tasks into enjoyable challenges, fostering loyalty and nudging behavior. When users feel rewarded—whether with points, badges, or exclusive perks—they’re more likely to keep coming back. It's a competitive edge, especially in a crowded market. 🔍 Consider these standout examples: Starbucks rewards purchases with “Stars” in a loyalty program that keeps customers coming back. Duolingo celebrates learning milestones with badges, encouraging users to stay committed. Tesla rewards referrals, turning loyal buyers into enthusiastic brand advocates. Google Fit tracks fitness goals with progress bars, motivating people to stay active. Nike engages users through quests and challenges, fostering community and healthy competition. Women In Product is excited to have collaborated with Product Talk with Malti: In the latest episode, Malthi SS (Product Coach), WIP’s long-term mentor, chats with our WIP member Vaishnavi Devi, product design expert, who breaks down winning gamification strategies and reveals why some miss the mark. With a background in storytelling and engagement from her early days as an RJ 🎙️, Vaishnavi Devi shares lessons from behavioral frameworks and real-world examples that show why gamification works—or doesn’t. WIP has long seen members collaborating and partnering with each other for many prospects and many have turned mentors also for each other. This is one such shining example of two WIP mentors Malthi SS (Product Coach) and Vaishnavi Devi catching up on a podcast episode on all things gamification. Whether you're in product management, design, or just fascinated by how tech keeps us hooked, this episode has something for you. Discover the true psychology behind gamification and learn how to apply these insights in your own journey. ▶️ https://lnkd.in/dsznAdG7

Was definitely more fun than I expected to host Naveen Tewari this weekend at The (Un)Conference. Hopefully everyone in the room enjoyed the candid insights from his journey at InMobi and Glance on building products for scale, being conscious about going global and how the product function may have to evolve with AI changing (or expected to change) the pace at which products are developed. Of course, as is the case with him always, Naveen was a sport, shared lots of great stories and how his characteristic insanity and chaos creation is the one thing he would never delegate to other mere mortals in the org :D . Thank you The Product Folks for organising an amazing event, had a great time meeting a lot of friends from the ecosystem.

Wrapped up an incredible session at the Product Unconference by The Product Folks, where I introduced the AI Product Strategy Framework for the first time! 🙌 It was a great opportunity to share the hard work that’s gone into developing the framework with an engaged group of Product and AI leaders. We dove deep into how data, automation, and real-time decision-making are transforming AI-powered products. We covered a lot of ground in 40 minutes, from the big picture of AI product strategy to examples like AI-driven recommendations and better map routes. The feedback has been fantastic, and I’m excited about developing it further. Thanks to everyone who joined, asked great questions, and contributed to a really dynamic conversation. Looking forward to seeing how we all keep pushing AI products forward from here! 🚀 #ProductLeadership #AIProducts #AIProductStrategy #ProductUnconference #TechTalk #AIandProduct #ProductManagement

What a whirlwind of a weekend at The Product Folks Unconference '24 :D As we raise the bar every single time, here's a small BTS I'd love to share When we first sat down to plan this year’s UnConf, we had one clear mission: CREATE SOMETHING THE ECOSYSTEM HERE HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED. Curated for senior leaders to learn from the best of the best. Where unfiltered playbooks would be shared, helping to grow the entire ecosystem. And we landed on a format that was fun, yet packed with tactics you can apply from the get-go. Masterclasses. Workshops. Roundtables. Braindates. Panels. Firesides. The Exploration Trail and The Discovery Trail. While I'll keep the details for the folks who joined, here's one stat that stood out. We had folks from 5 countries and over 27 cities join us. Doubling down on going truly GLOBAL. And for folks at the back - I'll say it again - there's only one community you need to be part of cuz we're not stopping here. It's the season of curated dinners - and if you want to join in - drop in a note below :) #growtogether PS: Huge shout-out to the team. all the partners, the speakers, and everyone who came through - wouldn't have been possible without you <3

Had the most energizing weekend at The Product Folks Unconference. Still buzzing from the excitement! So many great moments packed into one event! Had the opportunity to dive into an exceptionally insightful and dynamic roundtable on Friction vs. Growth in building awesome user journeys with amazing folks (cheers to Adithi S. and Nikhil Jois for keeping us on track) Also had a fantastic chat with Kunal Shah on the broader effects of AI on humanity's future —still processing that one! (Unfortunately, you can only see the back of my head in the photo 😉) And so many breakthrough exchanges courtesy of the outstanding product professionals there. Big thanks to the TPF team and Suhas Motwani for serving up this learning feast. Already marking my calendar for the next one!

Don't just build the product right; but also build the right product. What an incredible day at The Product (Un)Conference 2024 organized by The Product Folks in Bangalore this weekend. An amazing experience, meeting and learning from some of the most inspiring leaders that are shaping the product industry. We spent the day engaging in conversations with eye opening insights about growth, product, and the current buzz word Artificial Intelligence. Here are a few takeaways that really stood out for me: 1) Solve the right problem: Don't be the hammer trying to find a nail. 2) Balance growth and profitability: Invest in innovation and learn from failures. 3) Foster collaboration: Aligning cross-functional teams towards a common goal, is the key to achieve product success and increase ownership. 4) Focus on impact: A PM's true success lies in solving meaningful problems. 5) Build credibility: As an early in career PM, it is crucial to prove your worth and show your eagerness to contribute. Beyond the intriguing sessions, I enjoyed connecting with the Woman in Product community and fellow attendees from diverse backgrounds and understanding their products. The true highlight of the evening was a surprise session by Kunal Shah, Founder, Cred. His analogy of being a Krishna vs Ram, to build the best startups, hit the home run. A special thanks to Suhas Motwani and The Product Folks team for organizing this amazing event. Looking forward to the next (Un)Conference! #productmanagement #productleadership #productconference #innovation #collaboration #startup #entrepreneurship #womenintech PS: The goodies were definitely the cherry on the top.

Back in Bangalore, I had the pleasure of hosting a roundtable on "Leveraging Behavioral Psychology for Product Engagement" at the Product (Un) Conference 24. The discussion yielded valuable insights. Some key takeaways from the discussion: 1. Understanding user behavior: It's crucial to observe what users actually do, not just what they say. Behavioral cues in their environment often reveal deeper insights than verbal feedback alone. 2. Balancing metrics and ethics: While growth numbers are important for product engagement, we must be mindful of ethical considerations. Short-term gains should never come at the cost of long-term trust. 3. AI and behavioral psychology: The emerging field of AI presents exciting opportunities to apply behavioral psychology principles, potentially revolutionizing how we design engaging products. The 45-minute session benefited greatly from a diverse group of product leaders from PayTM, Simpl, Walmart, Target, Shaadi, Junglee Games, Navi, and Cred. A big thank you to Ranjan Jagannathan, Shanker Mohan, Rahul Agrawal, Ekta Vaswani, Palak V., Pragati Garg, Radhika Saxena, Swati Poddar, and Rahul Dhyawala for their engaging contributions! Special appreciation to The Product Folks, Aditya Mohanty, and Suhas Motwani, for organizing the Product (Un) Conference '24. It keeps getting bigger and better every year. It has been a while away from Bangalore but great to meet some former colleagues like Ram Papatla, Anuj Rathi, and Vikas Bansal. And can't forget meeting Nagaraja (Naga) Prakasam, one of the first inspirations during my entrepreneurial journey with NaturalMantra. #ProductManagement #BehavioralPsychology #UserEngagement #AIinProduct #ProductUnconference
