We were honored to provide a “Taking the Reins” Equine Assisted Learning workshop for local healthcare workers through Moved by Their Compassion. We commend this organization for recognizing the importance of self-care and mental wellness-Especially for those who dedicate their lives to serving others!
This is how the group felt after participating in this month's Equine Experience. Even the remnants from a little hurricane couldn't keep them from taking time for their mental health! Thank you Therapeutic Riding Institute, Inc.for your continued partnership. #thisiswhatwedo

**Exciting News from TRI! 🎉** Thanks to a generous grant from the PNC Foundation and AES Ohio Foundation, we're thrilled to offer our Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Experience (EAGLE) program AT NO COST to eligible organizations! 🐴❤️ At the Therapeutic Riding Institute (TRI), our mission is to enhance lives by providing high-quality, accredited Equine-Assisted Services in a safe, fun, and compassionate environment. Our EAGLE program is specially designed for at-risk youth, focusing on improving social and emotional learning through unique activities that involve working directly with our amazing horses. Last summer, we successfully piloted the EAGLE program with Kids In New Direction (KIND). As Ellie Broadbent, former Executive Director of KIND, shared: *"Our students all gained self-confidence that couldn't be taught in the classroom… TRI taught them that they are in control of the outcome as long as they are in touch with their emotions. This summer with your group was life-changing!"* We were honored to offer EAGLE to KIND again in 2024, and to our brand-new partner, the Victory Project! Are you involved with a local organization that serves children? We would love to provide this impactful experience for more students in our community. If your organization is interested, please contact us at (937)317-4439 or SIngersoll@TRIOhio.org to set up a tour and discuss how we can collaborate to benefit the youth you serve. 📄 **Check out our flyer for more details!** Let's work together to make a difference in the lives of young people! 🤝

We are honored to have Lily in our therapeutic riding lesson program!
It has been such a joy to know Lily, a remarkable 23-year-old who has redefined resilience and determination. Originally from Bethesda, Maryland, she moved to Dayton in 2021 to pursue a degree in Social Work at Wright State University. Living with Cerebral Palsy and using a wheelchair for mobility, Lily faces daily challenges with tasks many of us take for granted—walking independently, personal care, and speech. Yet, she doesn't let these limitations define her or hold her back. With the support of adaptive equipment, accessible campus facilities, and dedicated student assistants, Lily has embraced college life wholeheartedly. Her dorm room is equipped to meet her needs, she receives specialized tutoring and testing accommodations, and she even participates in physical activities thanks to adapted gym equipment. But what truly lights up her world is horseback riding. Since joining the Therapeutic Riding Institute, Inc.'s program in the fall of 2022, Lily has achieved her goal of riding independently without assistance—a testament to her perseverance and the power of inclusive programs. "Being on a horse makes me feel independent," she says. "TRI is special to me because I can continue my passion for riding even while I'm away from home." Lily dreams of giving back to her community as a Social Worker and aims to live independently by the time she's 30. Her journey is a powerful reminder that with the right support and an unwavering spirit, we can overcome any obstacle. Every day I'm inspired by individuals like Lily who continue to push beyond their limits and make a difference in the world!

🎉 We’re thrilled to announce that we raised over $207,000 at last weekend's Stetsons and Sterling gala! 🎉 This record-breaking event empowers us to continue to provide high quality and accredited Equine Assisted Services, and to grow our programs, services, and the lives we impact. PLUS, 350 guests in attendance meant that 350 people know even more about the power of what we do here at TRI, raising awareness for our therapeutic riding lesson program and unmounted (off-horse) Equine-Assisted Counseling and Learning programs like Warriors In Step with Horses (WISH) for veterans, Taking the Reins for teens and adults, and Equine-Assisted Growth and Learning Experience (EAGLE) for at-risk youth. Thank you to our sponsors, donors, volunteers, Stetsons and Sterling Committee, and Board of Directors, and staff for making Stetsons and Sterling 2024 the best gala yet! A special thank you to our incredible Event Chair, Corin Brewer, for her leadership and dedication to TRI! 🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You to altafiber 🌟 At TRI, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the joy and transformative power of physical activity, hobbies, and extracurricular pursuits. But for many individuals with disabilities, these opportunities can feel out of reach due to various barriers—whether physical, emotional, cognitive, or social. That’s where therapeutic horseback riding comes in. Backed by research from PATH International, this unique activity not only enhances physical health—boosting flexibility, balance, and muscle strength—but also offers profound cognitive, emotional, and social benefits. However, access to these life-changing services is often limited, particularly for those facing financial hardships. This is where TRI steps up, driven by our mission to provide high-quality, accredited Equine-Assisted Services in a safe, fun, and compassionate environment. Thanks to the generous support of Altafiber through the Bell Charitable Foundation, we’re able to continue breaking down these barriers to ensure that everyone in our community, regardless of financial circumstances, can experience the incredible benefits of therapeutic riding. Our Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors (CTRIs), specially trained therapy horses, and dedicated volunteers work together to create a supportive space where participants can truly thrive. Thank you, Altafiber, for partnering with us to make a lasting impact in the lives of those who need it most! 🐴💙 #ThankYou #Altafiber #TRI #TherapeuticRiding #CommunitySupport #PATHInternational #EquineAssistedServices #Premieraccreditedcenter #PATHCenter
