10 Things We HATE About Managing Events On Location 1️⃣ “𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁!" Emails, messages, updates—everyone’s pointing fingers. Who actually sent the memo? No one knows. 2️⃣ "𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲?" You’d think schedules would be set in stone. But somehow, no one’s ever 100% sure. 3️⃣ "𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗩 𝗴𝘂𝘆?!" It's showtime, and the AV team is *MIA*. Cue panic mode. 4️⃣ "𝗢𝗵 𝗻𝗼, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲?!" Nothing screams chaos like an 11th-hour venue change—and no one getting the memo in time. 5️⃣ "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶-𝗙𝗶 𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻… 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻."   Because apparently, strong Wi-Fi at an event is too much to ask for. 6️⃣ 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲. Need your lead salesperson at the booth for a big client? Good luck tracking them down in a packed conference hall. 7️⃣ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝟭𝟬 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀. Between Slack, email, WhatsApp, and shared docs, your head’s spinning. Why can’t *everything* just be in one place?! 8️⃣ “𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁…𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀?!"   Surprise! The setup isn’t what you discussed. But now it’s too late to change it. 9️⃣ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱 “𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲." It’s been sent five times already, but somehow it still didn’t reach the right people. 🔟  𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 “𝗼𝗻-𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹” 𝟮𝟰/𝟳.   From late-night crises to early morning wake-up calls, there’s no such thing as off-duty for an on-location event manager.
