    CEO at PRAY.COM

In the bustling heart of a modern city, there was a welder known for his unparalleled skill and precision. A client approached him one day, intrigued by the prospect of a custom metalwork project. The welder, after considering the request, stated, “The cost for this project will be $1,500.” Taken aback, the client exclaimed, “$1,500? Isn’t that a bit steep for just welding?” Curious, the welder responded, “What price did you have in mind?” The client suggested, “Maybe $800 at most. It seems like a straightforward task.” The welder offered a proposition, “If you think it’s simple, you could perhaps do it yourself for $800.” “I wouldn’t even know where to begin,” the client admitted. “For $800, I can teach you how to do it yourself. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also gain valuable skills for the future,” the welder proposed. Seeing value in the offer, the client agreed, only to be reminded of the need for specialized equipment which he lacked. The welder then offered to rent his equipment for an additional $300. The client wanted to start immediately but the welder was only available on Tuesday. As the welder emphasized the importance of scheduling and dedication the client realized they would have to change their schedule around just to accomplish the job. As they delved deeper, the welder explained the additional costs involved in welding work… permits, safety regulations, insurance, and other overheads to ensure the work is done professionally and safely. Realizing the complexity and the true value of the welder’s work, the client acknowledged that the $1,500 fee was not just for the labor but also for the expertise, equipment use, compliance with regulations, and the assurance of safety. On Tuesday, the client, now fully aware of the intricacies of the welding project, gladly paid the $1,500, appreciating the craftsmanship and the preparation that goes into such work. The modern parable of the welder enlightens us on the true cost of craftsmanship. It’s not just the physical labor that’s paid for but the expertise, preparation, and responsibility that come with it. Let this be a reminder to value the unseen efforts and expertise that craftsmen bring to their work.
