Signaling the new focus of N+T with a new name and look! Effective today, we are the Boston Public Art Triennial as we prepare for an audacious first for Boston. Opening in 2025, the Boston Public Art Triennial is curated by Pedro H. Alonzo and Terese Lukey and is free and accessible to all. Our Executive Director, Kate Gilbert, shares, “The launch of the first Boston Public Art Triennial marks a significant milestone in redefining Boston as an open and equitable public art city, celebrating our dynamic civic and cultural life, while welcoming international audiences for artistic exchange.” Our name has evolved but our mission to open minds, conversations, and spaces remains. The Triennial 2025 builds on the continuation of annual programs of finding and fostering artists via the Public Art Accelerator and Lot Lab. We are so grateful for all of our longtime supporters and are excited for you to join us for our next chapter in opening up Boston. ONE WEEK REMAINS 🌱 to experience Accelerator Cohort 6 artist Nelly Kate's installation 'Into the Ground, Into the Body', a somatic experience for the public to engage with sound across the senses through visualizations and vibration. Visitors are invited to activate sonic frequencies that resonate through the back of a bench and generate waveforms in a water fountain. This project uses inaudible frequencies as an alternative modality for restoration and healing while simultaneously decentering hearing experience. 📧 Subscribe to our newsletter to stay up-to-date on public art in Boston: https://lnkd.in/dwuEcFcn 🔗 Learn more about 'Into the Ground, Into the Body': https://lnkd.in/eYk7sRuc 📸: Cameron Kincheloe 1: NK tired but content. 2: Fountain tray with Faraday waves 3: Spontaneous collective moment 4: Luis + neighbor experience the bench [Alt-text Embedded] #BostonPublicArtTriennial #PublicArtCity #Accelerator #AcceleratorCohort6 #Accelerator2024 #ArtInstallation #BostonArtist. #FreeBostonEvent #PublicArt #IGIB #PublicArtAccelerator #somatics #sound #DeafGain #DeafPower #SoundInstallation
