Someone asked recently why we don’t shoot more concerts… Well, there are a few reasons: Reason #1 - Lasers 💥 Laser beams have a high energy density, which can damage lenses and even fry your camera sensor. 😰 Reason #2 - Loud (Unusable) Audio We shoot a lot of video when we cover events and it is tough to capture live music when it is played through massive concert speakers. Even if we did manage to record audio without distortion, most social media networks will flag these types of videos for copyright violations. 💔 Reason #3 - Poor Lighting 💡 Concert venues have strange lighting setups. Going from shooting the talent on stage to the audience is a dramatic environmental change. Each time your lens needs to be swapped and your settings need to be adjusted. With that said - we love our clients! So if they need us to film a video on the side of a mountain, we would figure it out. Here are some ways we mitigate the issues above to still capture quality content: - We use special ND (Neutral Density) Filters that can help protect our gear. - Fake the audio with prerecorded music and stock audience sounds. - Carry two camera rigs - one for close-up audience reactions and one with a zoom lens for stage shots. The more prepared you are for a shoot the better! That’s why we bring so much gear with us to these events and why we insist on testing the environment before showtime. #EventCoverage #Concerts #Photography #Videography

Are your social media links hard to find? Do this little experiment: Log out of your company’s social media account and try to find your page organically. Search for your name on each platform, look it up on Google, and take a moment to observe what you see. Most of your results will be unrelated and may even confuse a potential customer. That is why it is so important to make sure your links are updated in the footer of your website! #SocialMediaManagement #WebsiteDesign #MarketingTips #Branding

Your audience doesn't go on social media looking for things to buy. They want to build connections and cure their boredom. Earn their trust and give them a reason to stop scrolling! #SocialMediaStrategy #SmallBusiness #DigitalMarketing #CreativeContent

This presentation made me feel like a celebrity on the streets of Philly. I had people walking up to me all week asking for my business card and a copy of the slideshow. - Nickolas Vostoris (CEO of VOS Network) I was asked to speak at AWRF's bi-annual members-only event at the beautiful Loews Hotel. They wanted to learn about the latest social media trends and how they could use platforms like LinkedIn to grow their business. But in reality, no single bit of information would take them from zero posting/engagement/followers to social butterflies. It took me several years to figure out what works in the lifting and rigging industry! When I first started working with this client under Milo Detroit, I struggled to find ways to make wire rope and chain interesting to a large audience. So, instead, I wanted to give them a roadmap to how they could utilize the passions of employees they already have. You'd be surprised how many people on a 10-man crew have hobbies like writing and photography, even in blue-collar industries. The goal was to create a large flow of content to keep posts going out consistently and slowly build momentum. "The most asked about presentation was "Social Media TODAY" from Nick Vostoris of MILO Detroit. Nick reminded everyone on how social media has evolved over the last few years and how to successfully re-tweet, like and schedule posts."
