A few weeks ago, Frederic Laloux joined the Inner Development Goals for a Pre-Summit Special to share about The Week! Here's how it went. 🌎 Frederic started by introducing The Week — a transformative experience designed to bridge the gap between knowing that our behavior and systems need to change, and taking action. Particularly in response to urgent global challenges like the climate crisis. Then he went into a few principles The Week was rooted in:  • Not just sharing facts ➡️ but also offering a space to process emotions.  • Not just taking action as individuals, in isolation ➡️ but talking to groups.   • Not just sharing expert voices ➡️ but also the experiences of non-scientists, activists, or policymakers, and how they're taking action.  • Not motivating people with fear and guilt ➡️ but inspiring them for long-term engagement through pride and courage. 💥 Following the session, the 500+ people who attended were invited to experience The Week first-hand, and organize their own group! ✨ The IDG summit starts next week, so get your ticket to the Summit through the link in the comments, or take the IDG Survey to claim a free digital ticket now! 📅 Next week, October 16 - 18th 📍 Stockholm, Sweden & Online 🔗 Link the comments for ticket information! #idg #innerdevelopmentgoals #innertransformation #esg #sdg #leadership #humandevelopment #sustainability #csr #climatecrisis

I don’t know about y’all, but I’m sick of hearing “it’s up to the next generation to solve the climate crisis.” 💌 Now, please don't worry. This is not a takedown of older folks - it's a love letter. Penned to everyone over 60 as a reminder that you, too, can make a difference for the environment, and that the climate movement needs you. If this speaks to you, take 5 minutes and read our latest newsletter. 🙏 🌎 This time around, we're also featuring THIS! Is What We Did, a climate organization that’s growing an intergenerational movement across the US that’s strong enough to break the power of the fossil fuel industry. They'll be organizing a public screening of The Week later this month, and everyone is invited! If you haven't been able to go through The Week yet, now's your chance. The times are: 1️⃣ Sunday, October 20th at 4:00-5:30pm Pacific Time 2️⃣ Thursday, October 24th at 5:00-6:30pm Pacific Time 3️⃣ Sunday, October 27th at 4:00-5:30pm Pacific Time Hope to see some of y'all there, and stay posted for next month's letter! 🥰 #millenial #GenZ #climateaction #climatecrisis #intergenerational #boomer #movementbuilding #hurricanemilton #florida #northcarolina

"The stories we tell [about climate] need to represent a diversity of emotions." Easily one of my favorite quotes from #ClimateWeekNYC. 🌎 This came from Solitaire Townsend, Chief Solutionist and Co-founder of Futerra, during our first event of the week, about how to trigger positive tipping points for climate action & sustainability. ⚖️ It's something that we talk about a lot in our work, too - so I made a point of showing up. In giving folks a space to engage in real, emotional conversations about the climate crisis, The Week is triggering these social tipping points in groups and organizations, to build a culture of togetherness around climate action. Here's the full line-up of everyone on stage: 🔸 Kamila Camilo - activist, social entrepreneur, and founder of CreatorsAcademy Brasil 🔹 Tim Lenton - Director of the Global Systems Institute, University of Exeter 🔸 Gill Einhorn - Head of Innovation and Transformation at the @Centre for Nature and Climate of the World Economic Forum 🔹 #JacobJohns - Indigenous climate activist and Community Organizer from the Akimel O’odham and Hopi Tribes A huge thanks to all the incredible speakers for creating such a hopeful, inspiring space at #SolutionsHouse! 🎉 #climateweek #climatecrisis #nyc #tippingpoints #sustainability

As summer comes to an end, I'm reminded how important it is for the tourism industry to be taking sustainability seriously as it continues to grow. ☀ So for this week's organizer spotlight, I want to shine a light on the tourism agency, OnlyLyon Tourisme & Congrès. See, they tested The Week with a small group last year, and the feedback they received was fantastic. 💥 So, they decided to offer it to all their employees! Since July of last year, 45 employees (or 67% of their workforce) have taken part in The Week! ✈ Offering it on a voluntary basis during working hours, The Week raised awareness about the climate crisis, while enabling leadership at OnlyLyon Tourisme & Congrès to better understand, inform, and challenge their teams about the environment. It's led to everyone moving towards making a positive impact, both as citizens and as tourism professionals! Take a look at what Elodie Proncherit, Marketing Project Manager, thought about The Week: ”The Week is a real group experience that allows us to launch deep, honest conversations about the climate crisis without feeling judged, and for everyone to come away with actions that are as concrete as they are achievable, on their own scale, and according to their own sensibilities.” Really amazing stuff, y'all!! 🎉👏 #tourism #sustainability #avaiation #esg #climatecrisis #csr #summer #France #hr #teams #climateaction #Lyon #brat

Humor me for a second. Say you’re part of an organization that’s not taking the climate crisis seriously. 🌎 🌊 How many people need to take a stand before the norms of the group shift? How can we make inaction the outlier, and sustainability the new normal? 📰 Check out this month's newsletter to learn how! We dive into the logic behind social tipping points - the moment when a certain behavior spreads rapidly and becomes a new social norm in an organization or group – and how it connects to The Week. 🏫 Related to this, we also share an inspiring story from the US. It’s about how Tina Bessias, teacher and sustainability coordinator at Durham Academy, organized The Week with her school's entire staff! That's more than 200 people. It’s a really incredible accomplishment – and you can find out how she did it below. Until the next letter in October! ✌ #Raleigh #Durham #NorthCarolina #climateaction #sustainability #greenschools #backtoschool #socialnorms #climatecrisis #kids

Really exciting news, everyone – we’re going to be kicking off the Inner Development Goals Summit! 🎉🌎 Later this month, Frederic Laloux will host an online pre-summit special ahead of the 2024 IDG summit to share about The Week, and how anyone can use it to spark real, transformative conversations about the climate crisis. The theme of this year’s summit is “The Space in Between,” which will bring together perspectives from science, business, government, academia, and the arts to exchange on how inner development is driving transformative change across the world. This is par for the course for the Inner Development Goals, who – if you haven’t heard of them – are providing a blueprint of the capabilities, qualities, and skills needed to achieve the sustainable development goals. The session is free for all summit ticketholders, so book your ticket now! We’ll leave a link down the comments 🔗 Also, if you’ve gone through The Week yourself – then please say so in the comments so we can send you a discount code for the tickets! 🎟 And if price is an issue, please consider instead taking part in the IDG Survey – which we’ll also link in comments. Can’t wait to see some of you there! 😊 … 📅 Thursday, 26 September 🕔 11:00 EST / 17:00 CET 📍 Online Only #IDGs #SDGs #climateaction #sustainability #laborday #IDGsummit
