✨ What happens when you gather 12 of Kansas City's movers and shakers around a table for a Jeffersonian Dinner? ✨ You get a candid, inspiring conversation about the future this amazing city – and a willingness to even miss a Royals game to make it happen! ⚾ Last night, leaders from architecture, design, real estate, construction, and development joined ThinkLab to imagine the next chapter of Kansas City's skyline and the role each wants to play in shaping it. 🌆 We reflected on how in the past, Kansas City was called "Cowtown," "underestimated," and "overlooked." But in the future? Kansas City is poised to be a "catalyst," "benchmark," and a "recognized" leader in urban growth. We tackled tough issues: -The staggering impact of 3rd-grade literacy rates on predicting future prison needs. 📚 -KU Med's incredible healthcare impact—42x bigger annually for the city than the NFL draft! (Unverified) -The ethics behind development incentives and how the city has seen a 22% increase in homelessness over the past three years. 🏙️ Yet, despite the challenges, there's so much hope and possibility ahead. With collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision, we can ensure Kansas City's future is even brighter than its past. 💡 Special thanks to our amazing sponsors: Jill Stewart, Beth Collins and Caleb Slaughter with Office Revolution, Tara Page with Studio TK, and Teknion for making this night possible. 🙏 And to the incredible minds who brought their energy and ideas: Jason Osborne with Rosemann & Associates Anastasia Huggins with Lamar Johnson Collaborative Thomas Friestad with the Kansas City Business Journal Courtney Kounkel with Monarch Build Stacy Roth with Multistudio Shelley Rosetta with Solomon Coyle Lauren Kepler with Newkirk Novak Construction Partners and Melissa Gall with Range Realty Partners. It was an honor to share the table with you. Here’s to Kansas City's future—and our collective role in shaping it! 💥 #KCFuture #JeffersonianDinner #OfficeRevolution #StudioTK #Collaboration
