🇻🇳 GM Vietnam was a blast! Representing Third Time Entertainment, Inc. and Photo Finish™ LIVE in a country that has become my home away from home was a dream come true. Some notes from an incredible weekend: - GM Vietnam was free entry—how refreshing! While $500/ticket conferences are great for networking and growth, offering a free tier led to over 12,000 attendees, many of whom weren't there to promote anything but to learn. - Ingenuity > Budget. Our attendance at GM Vietnam came together within a week. In the days leading up to the event, I quickly printed beautiful postcards with sign-up QR codes and hired my two college-aged nieces who speak fluent Vietnamese for the day to help reach 1000s of attendees. Teaming with my co-worker Ryan Duguid, PFL also co-hosted a Solana Mixer alongside other Solana builders. This resulted in relationships that quickly spilled into Telegram and Zoom in the following days. The result has been new connections globally with some of the best people I've met in Web3. All on a budget you wouldn't believe. - The internet is not real-life Objects that appear on Twitter may seem more significant than they appear when you log off. When you get outside the algorithms and talk to people about what they're building and most excited about, you would never know or care about the sentiment online. If you ever need reassurance, touch grass with the right people in the right setting. My favorite professional athlete of all time, Dwyane Wade, has a legendary quote that I often think about these days: My belief is stronger than your doubt. This past weekend, I saw a lot of that in the eyes of some solid people. Until the next one! I hope to see some of you at Breakpoint in Singapore this September.
