We’re losing our connections. We’ve stopped going to local meetups, skipped social gatherings, and barely interact with neighbors. Screens have replaced real conversations. And now, many feel lonelier than ever. When traditional community touchpoints fade, it’s crucial to create new ones. One powerful way? A morning walk with a group. It’s more than just exercise. These walks can become a foundation for building community, fostering deeper connections, and realizing that no one is truly alone. If isolation is weighing heavy, try inviting a friend on a morning walk. Simple moments can lead to the strongest bonds.

The secret to avoiding Halloween’s sugar crash We all dread it. Halloween sugar overload wreaks havoc on kids' brains. And every year, parents are left to deal with the aftermath. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Here's a better way to manage the candy craze—without being the “buzzkill” house. 1. Make a Trade Turn the candy haul into a fun, rewarding game. Before trick-or-treating, offer your kids a trade: • Each Skittle = 25¢ • Gummy worms = 50¢ • Candy bars = 75¢ Now they’re thinking about what they can get instead of what they’ll eat. 2. Pass Out Healthier Candy No one wants to hand out apples, but you can avoid artificial dyes and excessive sugar without sacrificing fun. Here are some kid-approved options: • Unreal Peanut Butter Cups (36% less sugar) • YumEarth Gummy Bears (no dyes) • Bear Fruit Rolls (no added sugar) These swaps keep Halloween fun while minimizing the sugar hangover. Want more tips to keep your family healthy without missing out on the fun? Sign up for our newsletter, and we’ll help you navigate the holidays—healthily and happily.

We’ve forgotten how to walk together. It’s easy to blame screens, busy schedules, or our spread-out lives. But we’re missing something deeper: Genuine connection. At Thrive25, we believe the smallest habits can make the biggest impact. One of those is a morning walk—not alone, but with friends, family, or neighbors. Walking together strengthens more than your body. It builds relationships, creates a shared space to listen, talk, and connect. In a world of endless wellness trends, this might be the simplest and most transformative habit of all. The next time you’re thinking about how to improve your health, consider this: Connect with the people who matter to you and move together.

Quick PSA: This is the time of year when my kid comes home from school and says, “Daddy - I really like candy corn”. 🤦♂️ Halloween candy is inevitable. But there are some healthier options that will still pass the test for kids and make you feel a little better about what they’re (or you’re) eating. General guidelines of what to avoid - 1. Artificial dyes/colors - research reports that all 9 approved dyes in the U.S. have health concerns. 2. High-fructose corn-syrup - fructose is metabolized differently from sugar (not in a good way). 3. Added sugar - it can’t be completely avoided for Halloween, but try to keep the sugar down to a minimum. Here are a few products that are good options to pass out this year or have for your kids: Unreal Snacks Peanut Butter Cups - 36% less sugar than other brands Free2b Foods Sunflower Butter Cups - for nut allergies YumEarth Gummy Bears - no artificial dyes SkinnyDipped Almonds - my favorite BEAR Fruit Rolls - no added sugar or artificial stuff LesserEvil Brand Snack Co. Popcorn - organic popcorn and coconut oil IWON Organics Protein Puffs - organic protein There’s plenty of others - got a brand/product to add to the list?? Throw it in the comments below 👇

You're eating too late. That square of dark chocolate before bed… sounds harmless, right? But here's the thing: Late-night snacking messes with sleep and digestion. A week of indulging can lead to restless nights, sluggish mornings, and heavy legs during workouts. Cutting it out leads to immediate benefits like increased energy, better focus, and feeling lighter in the morning. It's not about eliminating treats completely, but knowing when to call it a night. Science shows that shutting down the kitchen three hours before bed resets the body's rhythm, improves sleep quality, and supports recovery. If you want more practical health insights like this, subscribe to the Thrive25 newsletter where health and longevity advice is delivered in simple, actionable steps.
