"Resilience helps young people master much more than academic skills. It also helps them make friends, navigate family issues, master sports or hobbies, or learn to play an instrument, to name just a few. As they grow, resilient kids are able to self-regulate, experience less anxiety, and enjoy better mental wellbeing. Longer term, they are more likely to finish post graduate goals, stick it out in a challenging job, and maintain positive relationships." Check out our latest blog by Meredith Maffeo-Spitzer about how schools can help build resilience in students: "Resilience is a skill that everyone needs to overcome obstacles and manage life’s challenges. Yet this essential quality seems to be on the decline in young people. Building resilience in children will help them do better in school and give them a better chance to be happier and more successful throughout their lives. Let’s start by considering why resilience skills have declined, and the advantages resilient kids have as they grow and mature. Then we’ll reveal how school staff can identify students who need to build resilience and provide support to facilitate more resilient kids." ✨ On September 4, 2024, we had the privilege of hosting a Suicide Awareness & Prevention Training for the Jersey City Public School System. We're grateful for the positive feedback from the attendees, including this heartfelt message from Elsie Jimenez, Resilience Program Facilitator, Jersey City Public School. "We received wonderful feedback on the presentation as it was engaging, informative, concise, creative, and well-organized. Suicide is always a difficult discussion to have with staff and people in general but this presentation was flawless in the light way that you all introduced suicide prevention overall yesterday. Thank you for your professionalism and excellent presentation to our staff. We appreciate the hard work that you all poured into making this a successful presentation." Thank you to everyone who participated and to our presenters Chris Leonard, Meredith Maffeo-Spitzer, Jennifer Smith, and Caroline Camarena, MSW, LSW. Together, we're fostering safe, supportive spaces for our students and communities. 💙 #SuicidePrevention #MentalHealthMatters #JerseyCitySchools #SupportingOurCommunity

Setting boundaries at work can help administrators, teachers and support staff to be more effective and satisfied in their jobs.
