If you had looked forward to seeing Shakira at one of her planned arena dates this fall, don't despair. Turns out that arenas just weren't big enough for this global music superstar. So the singer has revealed her 2025 *Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran* stadium tour dates for North America, following the initial announcement of an arena tour before that was ultimately canceled. Kicking off on May 13, 2025 in Charlotte, NC, the tour will include major stadium stops including MetLife Stadium in NJ, Fenway Park in Boston, and Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, concluding on June 30 in San Francisco. General ticket sales begin October 25. Broadway is having a good fall season so far. The Gen-Z-ish *Romeo and Juliet* is performing well, with the second-highest average ticket price last week ($181), just behind *Hamilton,* which never strays far from the top of the list. Despite its small venue, "Romeo & Juliet" has consistently grossed close to $1 million weekly. Meanwhile, *Sunset Boulevard* also continues to perform strongly, earning $1.3 million last week, its highest yet. Both productions are in previews, so there is definitely potential for even higher grosses. Other hot tickets last week include "Wicked" (which should see a boost next month with the release of the feature film), "The Lion King," "Moulin Rouge" and "The Outsiders." They helped Broadway secure a 15% revenue bump. Hard to believe that the young woman who once took over the airwaves with her hit, "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" is now readying for retirement from the concert stage. Cyndi Lauper embarks on her "Girls Just Want To Have Fun Farewell Tour" starting October 18 in Montreal. The tour marks her first ever global arena tour and will span 34 cities. Lauper loves that her 1983 hit "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" continues to inspire younger generations, including hip-hop star Nicki Minaj. Though she is giving up on touring, Lauper will remain active in social advocacy through her nonprofits and developing a Broadway adaptation of *Working Girl,* which she hopes to see hit the stage in 2028. So while she may have more time on her hands without touring, she is certainly a girl who still wants to have fun. Sebastian Maniscalco is proving that comedy is king, especially when it comes to selling out arenas. The comedian set four records during his run of five sellout performances at Madison Square Garden last month as part of his "It Ain't Right" tour. Maniscalco now holds the MSG record for most consecutive performances and most by a comedian (5) and most lifetime performances by a comedian (10). His stint moved a record 91,336 tickets and earned the highest gross for one tour with $10.7 million. He is held in such high regard by other comedians that his friend, Jerry Seinfeld, even opened the shows for him. And in another nod to his status, Maniscalco was given the honor of lighting the Empire State Building. Concert industry trade magazine Pollstar released its 2024 Mid-Year report which showed a mixed performance in the live concert industry. While attendance was down 14.9%, higher ticket prices (+9.4%) and more overall shows (+16.7%) drove record revenue of $3.07 billion, up 8.7% year-over-year. Q3 saw stronger growth, with gross revenues hitting $5.68 billion (+14.1%) and ticket sales rising modestly by 2.6%. Coldplay led the Top 100 Touring Artists with $237.4 million gross from their "Music of the Spheres" tour, which remains the highest-grossing Rock tour of all time. Other top-grossing artists included Luis Miguel, Bad Bunny, Bruce Springsteen, and Madonna. This seems destined to be one of Broadway's hot tickets for 2025. A new musical inspired by the making of the 1997 *Buena Vista Social Club* album will debut on Broadway in 2025. Produced by John Leguizamo, Luis Miranda, and LaChanze, the show will begin previews on February 21 and officially open on March 19 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Directed by Saheem Ali with a book by Marco Ramirez, the musical tells the story of the Cuban legends behind the album, featuring themes of survival, second chances, and the power of music. For those who want to start putting their holiday season entertainment plans together, here's one option you might want to consider. *Elf The Musical* is returning to Broadway for a limited holiday run starting November 9, 2024, with an official opening on November 17. The show will star TONY nominee Grey Henson (*Mean Girls*) as Buddy the Elf and run through January 4, 2025, at the Marquis Theatre in New York City. Directed by Philip Wm. McKinley, this new revival follows two record-breaking seasons in London’s West End and is sure to be one the season's hot tickets. The musical, based on the 2003 Will Ferrell film, features a book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin, with music by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin. Things are looking pretty good on the Great White Way. Broadway saw an 11% increase in cumulative grosses heading into Labor Day weekend, with all shows reporting gains. *The Outsiders* broke the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre record for the eighth time, grossing $1.52 million. The top five grossing productions for the latest period were typically some of the big, glitzy shows such as *Wicked* ($2.2 million), *The Lion King* ($1.97 million), *Hamilton* ($1.86 million). Though the top of the list also included *Hell's Kitchen* ($1.54 million), the aforementioned *The Outsiders,* and *MJ The Musical,* which saw the biggest weekly jump, rising by $243,918 to reach $1.4 million. Here's something from the "We Never Thought This Would Actually Happen" Department. Britpop legends Oasis has officially announced a UK and Ireland stadium tour for 2025. After years of speculation, the Gallagher brothers' improbable "OASIS LIVE 25" reunion tour includes 14 stadium dates across Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. This will be their only European shows in 2025, with plans to expand the tour globally if they can avoid getting on each other's nerves that long. Despite the reunion, reports suggest that no original members besides Liam and Noel Gallagher will join the tour, with Noel's High Flying Birds' members stepping in. If you've always wanted to see comedian Lewis Black live, you better act now because he is not going to be touring like he used to. Known for his "Back In Black" segment on *The Daily Show*, Black is currently on his "Goodbye Yeller Brick Road" final comedy tour. At 75, the angry comic is cutting back on touring but not retiring. Black says the challenges of modern touring and the absurdity of today's political climate make satire increasingly difficult. He also notes that the comedy industry has evolved, with newer comics finding success through social media, bypassing traditional routes including heavy touring. Despite the changes, Black feels fortunate for his career, having found success through timing and his unique comedic style.
